Players who are possibly leaving in the summer

I don't know why people are dismissing this, I highly doubt we'll offer contract extensions to any of those players. We have no need to reap fees from them and it'd do the club a world of good to nearly get £1million+ worth of wages a week off the books. The players we've been linked to suggest we'll happily let those players leave. Ederson/Rulli/possibly Gunn to replace Caballero, Maffeo and a new right back to replace Zaba and Sagna, Grimaldo to replace Clichy, Kolarov may stay depending on available targets. Yaya will be off, maybe (hopefully) replaced by Koke?? No need to replace Navas as we have 4 wingers already without mentioning the likes of Barker, Roberts, Celina or Moreno. Then the likes of Hart, Mangala, Nasri and Bony will be sold too. I bet we'll have a huge overhaul this summer. Just my opinion of course but seems to make sense and fit in with our plans.
Agree. This wouldn't surprise me at all. And it would free up a ton from our wage bill.

Its not exactly breaking news, I've read several similar articles which are really statements of the obvious.

My guess is that we will sign two expensive full backs with Maffeo & Kolarov as back ups.

The interesting one for me is the GK position. I know that Pep frequently defends Bravo, as you would expect, but it wouldnt surprise me if we sign a better keeper if one becomes available. The question then would be whether Bravo stays as back up or he leaves and Gunn is promoted to that role. I dont really see Bravo/Gunn as our GK pair. Gunn probably isnt ready yet to put pressure on Bravo for the position on a regular basis, and if Pep perseveres with Bravo I think he will want an experienced back up.

Somewhat surprisingly, Yaya will probably find he'll have more options this summer than last, given his recent form. And he might find that, a year on, the lure of China will have increased especially as there likely to be a lot more players there who he knows.

Undoubtedly just guesswork on what makes sense rather than based on any truths. Doesn't mean it's necessarily wrong though. Some legends in that pile, but also the right time for most of them to move on.

Can see Kolarov being kept as he's the only one still in contract next year (?) unfortunately. But a new LB & RB I expect will be signed, with Maffeo/Kolarov to play back up. Can't see us signing 3-4 new fullbacks in a window.

We've rebuilt a majority of the attack this summer, next season it'll be the other half (we all hope no doubt!).

Zaba should be kept, as a squad player picked for the right games he's good enough to play for us until he retires and he's family at this stage, the kind of lad you want at training and in the dressing room.

It looks like ffp has made city run a lot of contracts down, but who is leaving and when here is my thoughts
Caballero-Butland in the summer
Zabaleta-Karsdrop up and coming but might be too inexperienced summer
Sanga-Maffeo if not ready keep Sanga
Kompany-Ottamendi this is what he was bought for we will see?
Mangala-Dijk asap but with no understudy i would bring in Hause as well
Clichy_Angelino
Kolarov-Grimaldo summer Kolasinac asap out of contract in the summer
Fernando-Iorfa asap as with Hause Wolves heed the cash buy now play next year he can play cb rb rwb rdm all decent and covers ground well
Yaya-Gundogan
Delph-Garcia may not be fast enough but is another position for Kolasinac
Fernandinho-Kolasinac eventually
Navas-Sane just needs to work harder
Silva-Diaz Pulisic probably the best young player in the world at the moment so like Messi with those quick feet when who knows
Bony-a young Negrado someone to bully defenders and stop the 10 man defenses maybe Dolberg

Its too risky to replace both FB positions in one window and lose all of our established FB - i expect one of Sagna or Zabba to stay and Kolarov to stay..

For me anybody who thinks pep will be selling kolarov in the summer will b very disappointed he obviously rates him highly me personally wouldant mind him staying as a squad player to be used in your run of them mill games leave the big games to a new signing in the summer hopefully. With regards to yaya I would absolutely offer this man a new contract surely we would be mental not 2? As long as he keeps this hunger up is there a better person to have in the squad than him? Don't like to compliment the red scum but look at the influence a 34/35yr old carrick has in that position and yaya is 5 times the player he is. More than happy for us to buy or nurture maybe Garcia around yaya for another season just think it would be a massive mistake to let him go at this stage.

The only one of the seven I would give an extension to is Sagna, still a class act, and still in very good nick considering his age.

Sad to see Zabba go, but I am certain he will be back in some capacity in the future.

Think its also time to sort the captains situation out, unless he makes a Lazarus type return in the next few months, I fear Pep will call time on Vinny.

I doubt we're going to release all our fullbacks in one go, one from each side would be fine

As has been mentioned, 3 are out of contract.
Sagna is way ahead of Clichy & Zaba in terms of performance now and he's unlikely to want a one year deal as he's 34 (I think) in Feb.
He'll likely want a longer deal else where.
Similarly Zabaleta and Clichy, they'll want longer deals than we'll want to offer.

This isn't really a story, it's well documented that most are out of contract in the summer.
