Players who have left us under a cloud or on bad terms?

Neil Young was screwed over big time with City not giving him his deserved testimonial. I think it was Alison who promised it to him when he sold him to Preston.
Neil was a great guy and I couldn’t believe it when his son Mark joined my class at Lane End Primary school in Cheadle Hulme. We became very good friends and Neil would take us fishing up at Alderley Edge. Eventually, Neil had to sell his house and moved the family away to Handforth as he was really struggling working at Topps Tiles. A sad story on how a City legend was treated, but for me I cherish the memories of him to this day.
Incredible to think that in the space of 2 1/2 years he went from scoring the only goal in the FA Cup Final at Wembley to being sold to Preston North End (no disrespect, but come on...!) in January 1972. As Joe Mercer said - he never got any recognition for his talents.

I used to love watching Neil Young. Such an elegant, skillful player with a lethal left foot. He scored some wonderful goals from long range. One of the best strikers of a ball I have ever seen.

That right. I also remember that article by the disgraceful MUEN. They had a journalist hiding behind a hedge apparently just waiting to get a picture of Neil being a milk man when he was struggling. It was very embarrassing for him, and he was just trying to make ends meet. The milkman job was around the time he moved to Cheadle Hulme. He also was giving it a go with his father (I think) in the moving business. He has a big moving truck parked on his driveway for a while, but that didn’t work out. After that, I think he ended up at Topps Tiles at Stanley Green and then I lost touch when he moved away to Handforth.
Neil also had a short spell working in Attack Sports in the Stretford Arndale.

Tevez after refusing to come on as sub in Bobby Manc's time v Bayern Munich & sodding off back to his homeland

Elaborate a bit mate, ive heard for a long time he was an horrible fucker, but have never found out why.
I know there is a story of him knocking out an opposition player in the bar after a match when he played for Birmingham.
McNeill brought him to Maine Road in September 86, less than a month later McNeill had jumped ship to Villa. Frizzell took over and a month later was offloaded to West Brom as part of the deal to bring in Imre Varadi.
An unhappy Hopkins was quoted in the press as saying he hoped we were relegated at the end of the season.

Pretty sure you're right, bet they felt a right bunch of twats. Whatta Mistaka to maka.
Cole left a long time before the takeover and was championship level by 2008, he threatened to retire if city didn't let him go to Pompey. James asked to leave to go down south for his new partner more amicable the year after, then Distin was a couple of years after that out of contract and a much better offer by Pompey. The latter two won the FA Cup, but maybe should have stuck around to be fired off to villa like Dunne and won nowt.
