Players who might improve us

Realistically the team needs 3 new midfielders between now and the summer window.

There's a chance Kova (Saudi), Gundo (Turkey), Kev (USA) and Bernie (Benefica) all leave. Nunes too.

Marmoush can probably take up the position that Kev takes up with Echeverri as a cup option. For the others the club needs to rebuild the engine.

Unless contract running out for PL players.. like 1y left, I dont see the value there. They are almost impossible to get out of PL clubs and if they do it it will cost like Grealish money, and the track record for City is not great there, I think they should use their scout system and contacts to get top level in from Spain, Europe and S. America instead.
Yeah I would love to have Guinmares, Tonali, Baleba, (even Eze) but I see thats almost impossible in the summer and much more now. And thats partly why I feel Luiz is a good shout, performed top in the PL but gettable at the moment, and thats a very rare combination.

List of player that would be amazing, Barrios, Jauregizar, Aina, Miguel (winter 26..)

I see people talking about Baena.. the thing Baena has that very few has it's the vision and the execution, hes amazing at finding balls and hes getting better at it. I think he can be a Pedri type of player cos hes got "Pausa" kinda development potential that I dont see Foden got really.. the downside is that he has not got the low centre of gravity like David Siva and I worry a lot that he will not have the physical balance for the PL, kinda like Rico Lewis.. who I hope will grow into it thoguh.
Pedri used to have similar issues though and he looks much more sturdy now after a few years and not as easily bullied of the ball as he used to be. Technique and vision does only take you that far if you haven't got the balance to match it to be able to shield the ball etc.

Not for me. Neves is 6 years younger and personality feel he's already better than Rice. Rice is still a really good player though.
Only a few months and centimetres difference between Neves and Lewis, yet their current trajectories appear headed in different directions. That Paris Saint-Germain landed him for so much less than anticipated makes it even more painful.

Made no sense not getting him. He was the perfect play with Rodri and sub for Rodri young player

Pep himself said he didn't want to sign new players last summer.

He decided to go for Gundogan for free instead of spending 60m on Joao Neves.

I think he just said that to take the blame. He is not an idiot, he knew Rodri needed a partner and sub.

I don't think so.

My friend from Abu Dhabi who occasionally hear things, said the same thing even before Pep.

I didn't believe him at that time, but when Pep said it few months after our discussion, I think my friend was right this time.

Not getting Rice was worse.

Pep said it was him who didn't want to strengthen the team too much.
I believe that and when you look back there were lots of journos sating we'd be happy not adding to the squad, with the exception of Savinho.

Now most on here gave the journos pelters, but to be fair they called it. And my thoughts at the time were they were being briefed by the club, that there would be very few additions,

Truth is we don't hear what we don't want to hear!

You don’t think Rice would improve our midfield then? You seriously think he’s worse than having Nunes, Lewis, ancient Gundogan or Bernardo in there while opponents run through us?
No. For me one of the most overrated players in the game.
A old fashioned workhorse but a 100m player lol, makes Grealish look like prime Maradona
