Players who might improve us

If the French clubs are skint, Vanderson & Camara from Monaco would be smart signings. Singo too depending on if any centre backs leave.

Singo also being able to play right back could be handy.

For me a key signing in summer would be frimpong. It looks like pep has ditched the inverted full backs and changed back to a traditional overlapping system with our wingers cutting inside. This was very much the case v Chelsea.

If you’ve got frimpong and Gvardiol high and wide with Foden and marmoush drifting inside then that allows for a 3-2 build up with Rodri dropping between the centre backs when he returns.

Frimpong would be the perfect right back in this system as is Gvardiol on the other flank.

It is just baffling either way though. I get the whole "let's be cool in the market and let the next manager have free reign because I think this will be my last season" type of thinking but passing on one of the biggest midfield talents in the world would just be incompetence, and that buck should not stop with Pep and I choose to believe it didn't. I'd rather believe Neves chose PSG over us and with a lack of other special talents around the club decided there weren't anyone else worth pursuing over Pep's head. Which is fair enough but as hindsight has shown the wrong decision.

But a well-run club absolutely should never find themselves in a situation where a legendary but possibly outgoing manager can veto signing a potential generational talent in potentially his last summer with the club

Haaland won’t play every game and knowing our players some will get injured anyways.
Also I think KDB is gone. Bernardo will only play as CM and might basically replace Gundogan.

Cherki has even more potential than Wirtz
in my opinion but needs the right coach. You won’t find someone as both-footed, strong in a 1vs1 and creative again. He has all the tools.
At least he is carrying Lyon and showing that he got rid of his „ lazy „ trait. If not Wirtz he would be good and much cheaper.
