Players who might improve us

Failed at Birmingham?
Haha, I was having a bit of fun with you ;-) because you’re on the wind-up and I’ve taken the bait haven’t I?
No other explanation for Hart being mentioned in this thread and, I freely admit, you had me hook, line & sinker.
I hope you enjoyed the laugh and well done to you

Declan Rice would be a decent signing
I agree - really like the lad and think he would be great for us but not at the price that West Ham would demand when we already have Rodri for that role. Getting Luiz back from Villa to replace Dinho is probably more realistic.
I guess he will probably end up at Chelsea like so many talented, young Hammers.

Yeah he is good. Maybe too similar to Rodri

My thought as well. We need competition/rotation for Rodri when Ferna leaves. But Pep might want some "variety" in that role. And because he plays for West Ham and is English he'd probably cost 50m+ as well.

Disagree.
How so? Rodri is a fantastic controller of possession with an ability to dominate passing statistics. He's a guy that can dictate tempo at a level almost unmatched.

I like Rice, but he's not that kind of player. He's more like a bigger, more defence minded Fernandinho to me.

Rice impressed me yesterday and has done all season, having barely watched him with the majority of the times beigng for England under southgate, I didn't get the hype around him but he's stepped up this year, Pep could work magic with him but I don't think the cost would be worth it for us, if we were desperate for homegrown players then maybe.

Pulisic I think could be special under Pep, has the raw ingredients to be everything we need from a winger, not getting much of a look in at Chelsea right now and of all of the top English clubs, they are the ones who seem more willing to do business with rivals than anybody

Maybe. But he is a DM and not sure I could see a midfield of Rice and Rodri + one other.

Rice is a non-starter for us. They're reported to want £80m+.

He'll go to Chelsea, move to CB and end up being the next John Terry.

I reckon he would be cheaper then that. West Ham have been hit quite hard by covid apparently.
Also no chance Chelsea are after him, one of the reasons frank got sacked was because the board didn’t want rice.
