They can forgo one season or at stretch two without being in the Premium Competition. We did it the first time no reason why we can't do the same again.
We shouldn't be facing that prospect though, that's the point. We need to be investing whatever it takes to remain in the top competitions and challenging for them. This is a different City to then. A new stand opening ready for big European nights against teams from Lithuania and Kazakhstan...not what the club should be accepting of.
I don't believe we are that far away from being the best again. It's only a few players. We might not be able to resolve the issues in January as you say, but we have to be trying to even if it costs a bit more.
