Plzen ticketing issue! Not a happy bunny

A few coppers and students get to see a cheap game of football from the front or the gods. But nothing else.

Are those the only people who get the tickets discounted ? Students and coppers?

Funnily enough I've a friend in Manc who's a copper and his station gets free tickets to pretty much every home match. Even the derby.

I've absolutely no idea who is and who isn't getting these tickets, billy.

At a guess, the club have made ties with various sporting bodies around mcr in an ongoing attempt to attract new fans, and are using these ties to get a few extra bums on seats and cash in the till for a game which won't sell out. They appear to be being offered to people who wouldn't normally go at a cheap rate so that city don't impact on their own general sales.

I like your can of worms at the end, though ;-)

Is that really a can of worms ??? I just thought it was general practice at most big football clubs. I imagine that certainly the stations in the immediate vicinity of the ground will always have access to club officials and tickets without any hassle.

It's no can of worms to me, billy. If someone gets a cheap or free ticket then good on them. Might get a few mad on here though.

Put it this way, I know that you know as well as I do that there are a high number of "comps" which go around for every football match in the world. Sometimes it's not what you know but who you know. And coppers are good at scratching backs in the right places ;-)

Right, that's it! You mean to tell me I have to fork out nearly £700 a year to get my 19 games when I can get them for free nearer the time? That's ridiculous. City should offer them free to everyone, otherwise it isn't rewarding my loyalty. Or something.

Try not to be a sarcastic clown, I believe it's frowned upon.

Honestly if I was a football club, I'd make it club policy to always provide free tickets to the police, and to young people from deprived neighbourhoods. It's good to know that City do this as a matter of course.

I have a friend in Manc that's a cop and pays for a season ticket every year. Wait until she hears about all this.

Haha. To qualify what I said earlier, my friend is based very close to the Etihad, and as I said, I think that makes a difference.

Interesting ... I definitely will do. I don't have an intimate knowledge of what City do, however my friend the police officer told me that City In the Community work with them in getting tickets out to kids from deprived neighbourhoods. That's a really cool thing to do IMO.
