First benefit of the cup scheme on the city page is

"Front of the queue for cup final tickets"

As that's a benefit of the scheme and is clearly advertised i don't see how they can change it.

Frankly if you didn't sign up for the scheme it's tough and there's no point crying about it now!

disagree, i didn't join but did all the FA cup games anyway (couldn't commit).

why should someone who is on the cup scheme but has 1000 less loyalty points then me get a ticket instead?

Because they joined the cup scheme which you also had opportunity to join and decided not to. If you had joined it you would rightly have been ahead of him in the queue.
see, this i don't agree with
i would amend the system so the priority was:
1. cup scheme members
2. three cup games attended
3. two cup games attended
4. one cup game attended
5. all other seasoncard holders
6. blue members attending three cup gates
7. etc etc etc

1-4 all being seasoncard holders

So you're advocating the complete removal of the loyalty point system for cup games?

Has some merit, but I think loyalty over time and in the league should get some credit as well.

Someone posted it before along the lines of what I'd like to see.

Start a category with 10,000 points + or 7,000 points on the cup scheme

Drop it by 1,000 a go.

Cup scheme members get a real benefit, but the loyalty of the people not in the scheme is taken into consideration as well.

The long and short of it is that it's nigh on impossible to create a system that everyone would be happy with. The club choose the cup scheme system because it obviously gets fans to commit financially to attending the cup. I think all they can really do is decide on a way to do it, and them make it abundantly clear to fans at the start of the season that that's the way it's being done. I don't think you can ask for much more from them.

That being said , I'm on 6.5k and on the cup scheme, so quite confident that il get a ticket. i may have had a different view if I wasn't in the financial position to join the cup schemes at the start of the season.

if you had 6.5k and not on the cup scheme would a first year season ticket holder in the cup scheme be in front of you cos that would seem a bit unfair

The same way a 1st season ticket holder would be in front of a Blue Member with 10K points who had given up a season ticket.

It is a transparent system using membership, scheme and points - it is hard to complain.

just seens a little unfair that some dude could be watching chelsea last year then switch to city join the scheme and hey presto i got my ticket over a fan that was a regular in the gene kelly stand at maine road and no doubt there will be a similar case to this with someone

you got 100 points for joining the cup scheme
by the way cup scheme members still get moved out of their seat, same as everyone else, if they are in the south stand

For each scheme you join? And presumably you still get points for the individual games as well. That's going to move you up through the ticketing categories pretty quick.

I did it a couple of years ago, I think it was even more then.
yes

but in years gone by it used to be 25 points per cup scheme
as to moving up through the categories, i really don't know
i imagine people at the top of the loyalty points tree are in the cup schemes as well

But they didn't show loyalty in joining the cup scheme. The people with 10,000 points get benefits like the manchester derby at the swamp. If they want benefits in cup games they should join the scheme!

Just had a look. Double points for platinum.

So a first year season ticket holder with a bit of cash can get 600 points before they have forked out a penny. Plus points for individual games.

That's about 2 seasons of away games.

Shame for those who can't commit, but I guess money rules.

FWIW I'm sure I got a lot more than 25 points for my cup scheme a few years back. Will have to look through my account one day.

no no no
1. cup scheme members first and in loyalty points order
2. attended all three home cup games in loyalty points order etc etc

take all fucking year to get down to the categories where it would sell out.

Also how are you going to check who's actually attended, do the scanners on the turnstile record that info and is it kept?

There's no way our ticket office could cope with something this complicated :)
