Policing in the UK

He looks like he's pretty incapacitated on the floor to me.

not restrained though-

You have to understand that we are only seeing the CCTV-there would've been a lot more evidence to review-the other CCTV from the previous incidents, witness accounts-inc what was being said, police radio recordings, medical evidence, expert evidence, police training (here firearms-remember the training is home office approved); and as I stated all along we cannot put ourselves in the mind of the officer-it was his honestly held opinion as to whether that level of force was justified-and he wouldve been interviewed under caution.

From all that the CPS have decided that there is insufficient evidence to charge the officer.

Now all the usual types screaming why it took so long-is exactly because it was a highly complex case.

And you cannot separate the incidents which led up to this-and I have never said he 'deserved' it-but that it may be justified-and cps have decided that there was insufficient to pursue a charge challenging that justification in a court of law.

The public don’t have enough information and context to make a fair judgement on this incident.

In isolation it looks bad, but it’s only part of the story.

Should what happened before warrant the copper to do this? That Asian lad isn't going anywhere or a threat. Can we really have coppers dishing out violence?

We don’t know.

The law decrees what is proportional force. It’s been looked at by professionals who know the law, have seen the full context and have decided that it wasn’t disproportionate.

There are more police officers being reprimanded and dismissed these days than ever before. I doubt this has been swept under the carpet, due to the huge publicity it got. It will have been done by the book.

Ah right and there we go. Man being restrained on the floor deserved a running boot and stamp to the head because of what he did prior.

Deary me.
The guy was fighting an armed police officer and the video evidence showed that the police did not just decide to start cracking skulls. They could have stolen his weapon and shot them or others, he was lucky not to get shot let alone get his head kicked in.

What is the prospect of convicting the police officer? It is literally zero given the circumstances so what is the point in charging and wasting everybody's time?

The CPS have to judge a case based upon the likelihood of conviction and not just the material facts which already it seems overwhelmingly prove who was at fault.
