I'm just surprised the mess wasn't blamed on Remainers and the EU, although as a non-subscriber to the Telegraph I've only read the first 10 lines of the article. Maybe that comes later.

Having said that the comments are comedy gold. Here's the highlight:

"If we had had a clean, proper Brexit, implemented by an honest government carrying out the will of the people, as Brexiteers wanted, we would not have these messy issues. It was May and her remain cabal that came up with the dogs dinner of a WA in order to keep the UK still under Brussels control as much as possible. The Irish issue would have been one for the EU. We could have said, and meant it, that the UK government would never put up a hard border in Ireland and left the EU to respond. Any problems with the Good Friday Agreement would be down to them if they put up a hard border.

The current problems all flow from that. The remain cabal, on both sides of the channel, and in its childish bitterness, would rather damage all concerned than see a successful Brexit."

Could easily be a copy and paste from one or two on here!

You can see why we are in a mess though, it’s delusional bollocks to pretend that all this is ‘just mismanagement’, it is literally Brexit. The consequences of being outside the Single Market and Customs Union. The ‘mismanagement’ is just an optional extra.

Delusional bollocks but entirely predictable. Fanatical true believers will never admit that they were wrong. It's got to be someone else's fault. I said it years ago that Brexit is a religion to some of them, and nothing I've seen has changed my opinion on that. Cult like behaviour.

Got to laugh at the Express complaining that the EU copied and pasted obsolete text into the trade agreement. I wonder why they're not complaining that we didn't read it before agreeing to it?

If the EU had put a clause in page 1150 that kept us in the SM, CU and ECJ we'd still be in them!
