Political relations between UK-EU

The EU does not set non EU immigration policy or earning requirements for its members states
Have a look at this. It's moved on a bit in the last couple of years.

To get a "Blue Card" for a higher professional worker you have to have a salary equal to 1.5 times the average salary in the relevant country. So €53K for Germany. Or be in an occupation where they need people. Linda like a points based system.

Disappointing that the supporters of a union that we are no longer part of are successfully preventing discussion of what the thread was created for
People might be taking the thread in a direction other than what it is proposed to be for, I agree with you there, but in doing so they aren’t preventing anything. Feel free to post on topic.

Will be interesting to see how the future relationship develops, still a lot of dust to settle I think

But your assuming that free movement results in too many people

And who decides what is too many and on what basis
It has, up until now it’s been between 300,000-600,000 net per year, that is unsustainable.

The Labour Party did when they officially apologised for it during 1997-2010.

Really? I'd disagree - there seems to be useful discourse about the future relationship which will clearly not be billiard table smooth despite what pro-Leavers may want - there are already holes being picked in the TA which will doubtless lead to issues between both sides as either will wish to persuade the other they are the ones in the right. Clearly fishing and fishing communities have not fared like the totemic object they were led to believe - its hard to see that there won't be issues going forward on that to start with. Johnson will be facing internal pressures which he will try to utilise in further discussions with the EU. Already up here the fishermen of Redcar are voicing discontent at the TA which in turn puts pressure on their new Tory MP to whom they loaned their vote who in turn through the NRG of which he is a members will be getting into Johnsons ribs.
There are lots of discussions to be had between the UK and the EU over the relationship going forward - this I am afraid to inform you will rumble on and on.

Sorry

Politely - let's just say that I hold a different view - opts outs would soon be irrelevant

And I am absolutely sure that I am right - same as you no doubt are
I am equally sure that you are absolutely wrong and I’m not going to tell you why.

According to latest poll 73% agree with ending free movement with only 17% wanting it to continue.

Its our own right to free movement we have ended - we always had the right to place restrictions on free movement of EU nationals to the UK its just governments here never bothered to impose them.

Meanwhile I am willing to bet 95% of those polled who usually go abroad to holiday haven't done so and will be in for a shock when they have to queue with Americans, Brazilians, Somalians and Koreans just to get into Spain.

Further I'd bet near 100% of those polled who have ambitions to retire to the sun on the Costa's or in Portugal have yet to realise how cancelling free movement has made that impossible.

Not really sure what you think the thread was specifically created for, or why discussion is being prevented?!
