Political relations between UK-EU

so we leave the EU to "take back control of out laws and borders" and when it turns out we don't like what we have done we expect the EU to allow us to dictate what happens with their law and borders? And are upset when they say no. The govt are a bunch of fucking children

And the catch with the £23m fund for fish exporters who've lost money? You have to show you've lost money on a consignment. So to get the money you have to catch the fish and not be able to sell it at the usual price or have a consignment ruined through delay. So if your boat is not going out because it's likely the catch will have to be thrown away, you can't claim anything. Hence it's only bigger firms taking the risk (and real danger in this weather) of going out to catch fish which may or may not get to market.

It certainly demonstrates the hypocrisy of the white, affluent, privileged Remain crowd. No concern whatsoever for the fishing industry during the campaign. Indeed such was the contempt these working class lads and lasses were held in by Captain Geldof and his ilk, Cap’n Bob and his fellow chaps saw fit to hire a motor craft at considerable expense for the purpose of sailing it down the nations busiest river simply to use this as a way to call these hard working, concerned fellow citizens Wankers and tell them to Fuck Off on national television.

That was the priority. That was the best use of his time and his money - much of it earned from the tragedy of black families dying of starvation - He didn’t use that surplus cash to donate to a soup kitchen, he didn’t use it to help out a local charity. No, he used his surplus cash to tell working class people “you’re wankers” and “fuck off” Simply because they disagreed with his view of the world.

That was also the moment when millions of other working class people realised, in full HD, exactly what the suburban set actually thought of them.

That was the moment that hit home.

That was the moment the referendum was won for Leave.

That was the moment our country was saved.

You can take your fake concern for people you wouldn’t ordinarily piss on if they were on fire. They know you don’t mean it. They know you really think they are wankers and are beneath you. They have memories. So do I. And on June 23 2016 I used that memory in the voting booth.

Working class solidarity won. Affluent privileged sneering lost.

Thank you. You and yours made the case for Leave far better than the leave campaign could ever have dreamed of doing themselves.

That was because the majority of ''remainers'' understood that the problems within the fishing industry were created by the Conservative Party (you are aware that they went to court against the trawler men in 2012 to establish ownership of the quotas ) which they promptly sold to overseas companies. That once again we were in the ''Rinse and Repeat'' of Tory policies and the constant catchup of them trying to solve the very problems that they created. (see recent flammable cladding scandal)

As far as Geldof and using his surplus cash is concerned .... you are aware that the Tories blocked aid for food banks coming from the Eu? aren't you.

It depends what you mean by working class. If you mean people that work, the research said "A majority of those working full-time or part-time voted to remain in the EU; most of those not working voted to leave."
Those who the meedya call 'traditional Labour voters". I've always subscribed to the notion that there are only three classes - those who work, those who don't and those who did but who have gracefully retired after a lifetime of slavery!

I see what you did there.

I’m not sure it’s unreasonable to expect the fishermen to demonstrate they are out of pocket. But in return for that do we know what basis price they are paying the fishermen? I’d like to see them pay the average catch price per tonne for 2020 rather than current market prices (which are on their arse)

Throwing the catch away? Sounds exactly like the CFP.

And those who were saying how unimportant it was, as an industry, are now going on like its life or death for the UK economy.

I was and am consistent, it’s unimportant in the grand scheme of things and whilst it’s sad for the few people who it’s affected, the impact on the economy is nearly nil.
Nice bit of spin there mate.
Here's the actualité.
Leavers said fishing was an important Brexit issue and the industry would benefit from leaving the EU. It's hasn't benefitted, in fact it's been screwed post brexit.
Remainers said Brexit was NOT an important Brexit issue. It remains unimportant post Brexit but despite this it has still been screwed despite Leaver assurances to the contrary.
