The sad case of cornwall always struck me as brexit in a nutshell.
Promises that turned out to be abject lies, the loss of substantial funding, and the poverty and neglect that will inevitably follow, with crumbling schools and un-repaired roads.
It will play havoc with their tourist business as there will be no hotel or bar staff.
For what? Cornish sovereignty?
Who are they going to blame next?

It’s a close run thing between the fishing industry and Cornwall as to who has gone from brexit victor to brexit victim the quicker.
Still plenty of competition to come yet.

same with fishing in Devon yet on voxpops on the news yesterday no shortage Cox supporters in his constituency - they have astronomical house prices - villages deserted out of season due to the proliferation of holiday homes - and most still seemed cool with him "representing" them from the BVA - sunning himself whilst they were in lock down and getting paid a million quid - as long as that bumpkin like forelock tugging persists there is no hope

so? they knew what they were voting for. They backed the Tories in the local elections - fuck them - let them wallow with no fishing industry, high housing prices, only low paying seasonal jobs and keep returning Tories see where it gets them - there are always disused mines they can move to and live like troglodytes whilst Rock and Padstow fills up with old Etonians
