Oh and the pensioners of today have not made my standard of living possible. I don't know what you base saying they have on?
I thought you married one?

May I ask do you pay into the system?

lol, early 40's is not quite pensioner age!! He's still got to work a few more decades to support us.

My husband pays enough income tax and other business related taxes for both of us and I obviously don't claim any sort of state benefit, so we as a couple are net contributors. But I buy things like everyone else, so pay VAT, fuel tax etc etc
But you don't pay tax with your money. Surely you are more of a scrounged than those pesky oaps that worked all their lives?

Oh I totally agree with that.

I mentioned it because the knee jerk response to everything is always 'there are too many kids/single mother/large families breeding', or this person/that person should be sterilised, they are costing too much money. When the real costs are not children but the elderly and the real problem in Europe is not that we are having too many children but we are having too few and the Continent is ageing rapidly.
not that rapidly, it's averaging about a year every 12 months

I meant in terms of the number of people reaching pensionable age not actual life expectancy and also the ratio of young to old has declined a lot compared to days of old.
Was a joke.

We need to implement a global one-child policy. Even then, the policy should include a judgement of character. If you are not earning enough money to support yourself and the child then you can't proceed with the fertilisation process. Those who opt to sponge off the country should not have the privilege of raising a child. It's not a right, it's a privilege.

I know it's straying off topic and you don't have to answer if you don't want to but if you were to split up and divorce, would you want half of everything he's got.

Well he supports his ex wife and their children to a comfortable standard, which I am very much in favour of, because when I was a teenager and my parents split up, my dad left us with nothing, literally homeless. Going from having lots to nothing was terrible and I hate men who refuse to pay for their children.

I know no-one can predict the future but I really hope we don't split up, however if the worst happened then I would expect him to support me and any children we will have (hopefully soon). Not half of everything, because it's his, but I do lots of things for him that can't be measured in monetary terms. Anyway thinking about it like that, he can't afford to divorce me and find someone else, he can't afford two ex-families, ha ha!!

We need to put in some kind of Logans Run style killing everyone at 30 rule

I would have settled for that on the proviso I got to bang Jenny Agutter for a couple of years prior to my crystal turning red.

( That's the 1975 Jenny by the way. Not the current one. )
