Port Vale (H) - FA Cup 3rd Round Post Match Thread

got back 2;30am after a nice sleep on the sofa due to missus snoring like a train !!, looking back I thought it was good of Vale to try and play football and not like a few lower league clubs try to kick us of the park. Vale scored a well worked goal but on the whole City controlled the match. Really nice to see 3 academy kids at the end. As I said after the match in the car Fodan ran the game. Good work out for Aguero as he always needs two or three games after an injury to get going again.

What was going on in the Family Stand with a drum and clappers?

I was sat on the halfway line and wondering what I could hear from the Family Stand. Sounded like a singing section. Someone was having fun anyway.
This nice looking lady was handing those clappers out in the family stand level 2. Ashamedly I got one for my youngest daughter back home, the bloody thing was firmly rooted in my coat pocket all game.

Moonchester had a drum in the service tunnel between Colin Bell and Family Stands, he was conducting the family stand and clappers. All good fun.

John Stones may not be the greatest centre-half in history, but just by playing in the PL, playing for England and winning numerous pieces of silverware he has achieved more than over 99% of men will ever do. In fact, probably more than 90% of professional footballers.

For some obscure player no one outside his club has ever heard of to take the piss out of him may be banter, but it's also a bloody cheek.

It's like some cricketer who goes in at number eight for Unsworth CC taking the piss out of Ben Stokes. Bit of a stretch.

I’ve met a few Stoke fans over the years and asked them why they hate United so much and they’ve all said it was because of all the armchair glory hunting United fans who live in Stoke.

West Ham fans said the same thing to me at an away game there once, one said “they’re our local rivals too, they’re everywhere in East London”.
The first meeting I went to when I worked in sjoke, there were 3 blokes sat together at the end of the table, talking about football and “us” playing at the weekend, I asked who “us” was, sjoke or vale, they looked at me as if I was daft and said “united”. Fuckers

Stones did spend the game with a face normally reserved for when you’ve just discovered your dogs died so on that score Pope definitely got into his head.
Hopefully we’ll never have reason to interact with the scruffy **** again though and Stones can move on and get his head straight and get back to his best.
