Don't know where you get your idea that there are none for flu, there are loads but the protection is variable depending on the strain.
SARS was eliminated before we needed it and MERS has not been shown to be particularly contagious.
No guarantee of a vaccine but with the amount of money and brain power going into it, there are definite reasons for optimism.
