Positive news about Corona Virus Updates

Total deaths continuing to fall despite new infections still over 1,000 each day. Hopefully those catching the virus now aren't as badly affected and the deaths continue to drop. Need the number of infections to drop significantly though.

Whilst it's all looking like it's fading out in some respects many virologists are advising caution and holding back. The guy from the Lancet was on Newsnight last night and advised the same. I'm just looking for a silver bullet announcement that herd immunity is kicking in for lots but also this new vaccine will indeed be rolled out (incredibly early) in October for the more vulnerable.

I remember all the questions and thoughts about how the world will chance post pandemic and as of today I don't think it will much. As someone with asthma and who runs along the streets (the toll from pollution on our lungs is devastating...I recall a doctor on radio 4 a couple of years ago advising how dangerous this is to the population - I'll have to dig out the facts) maybe electric cars will indeed be ramped up and perhaps people will think about cleanliness more (I've always been a bit of a neat freak to a point).

So in summary...advancements in electric car batteries!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the latest estimate of the percentage of the population who have had it (from random antibody tests) is around 6% whereas for herd immunity it needs to be around 60%. We've still got a long way to go for that one. Reducing it to a level where track and trace can contain local outbreaks is likely to be far quicker and more effective.

I hear different stories tbf and a lot of contradicting stuff. Plus, there's the 'thing' about many having T/B cells that kick in before the virus gets anywhere near (thus not showing antibodies....but I'm not 100% on that).
