The full pre print of the dexamethasone trial is out now not yet peer reviewed but at a quick glance it looks good.

Key message is that dexamethasone definitely appears to reduce mortality but only in patients who are still unwell enough to need oxygen 7 days after start of symptoms.
People not on oxygen derived no benefit and had a slightly worse outcome (though not reaching statistical significance)

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirms 18,191 people now have tested positive for Covid-19, an increase of nine from yesterday.

880 patients are in hospital with a suspected or confirmed case (up 15, though there has been a drop of 23 confirmed cases), with 23 being treated in intensive care (up two).

A further four people who tested positive have died in the last 24 hours, taking the total to 2,480 deaths in Scotland by that measure.

Ms Sturgeon tells the chamber the R number is between 0.6 and 0.8.

She says on 21 May the estimate was that 25,000 people in Scotland had the virus, the most recent estimate now is just 2,900 people.
