Positive news about Corona Virus Updates

There has been a couple of tentative reports that the virus is mutating into a weaker strain. A virus specialist in Italy was reported as saying those coming into ICU the past few weeks are not in as serious condition health wise as those that were coming in in March and April. Fingers crossed this is true.

Weekly all deaths data update released today:
Week 12 June: 9, 976 deaths
Vs 5 year average for that week of the year of: 9, 417 deaths.

So the gap continuing to fall to within statistically insignificant levels, (admitting all the usual caveats about people not being out doing some of the other risky behaviours for mortality, on a Friday and Saturday night etc).
Good news anyway.

Hopefully. Could also just be viral load. They're getting it, but because of general lifestyle changes, not as much of it. I think this explains the deaths falling in the UK while there are still a lot of positive case tests too personally.

HERE IS THE OTHER DATA I POSTED IN THE 'LESS POSITIVE' THREAD. ITS GOOD SO WORTH ADDING HERE.

Zero deaths. And not at weekend. First time that has occurred since 20 March.

Last Friday they reported 6

17 new cases (it was 27 last Friday). Nicola Sturgeon reports the % in Scotland testing positive is now 'well below 1% every day and was 0.3% yesterday').

4042 now discharged from hospital.

823 in hospital (- 3) - it was 904 last Friday.

17 in ICU (-1) - it was 19 last Friday.

WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING AT US?

With today's England hospital numbers showing 9 from yesterday that is now eight consecutive days of single figure totals reported on the day.

And 11 of the last 13 days have been below 10 too (the others were 11 and 13).

9 today is the highest since 17 June. And 4 of those 9 were in the north west.

Aside from this run from 13 June on the day England death totals have not been in single figures since the early days of the outbreak in March.

Numbers do climb as deaths are registered but 21 June is only at 32 after five days and no day has climbed above 55 back to 14 June.

Relatively few get added on after longer than two weeks.
