Positives From Our Blackest Night In Beswick

Call me crazy but imo Kolarov should have played with is improved performances of late, nasri looked to play the ball several times keeping the tempo up and clichy was 20 yards too far back and he never pushed their right side up the pitch enough times when he could have done, all down to match sharpness.
Personally, I would've played Zabaleta and Clichy on the grounds that both Richards and Kolarov are both better going forward, and would have no chance to do that against Bayern.

Well I thought Micah did OK apart from the first goal......

good to see Merlin back and Roberto too

Positive for me is that the only way from here is up!!

I feel surprisingly positive. Odd I know. Back in the summer before MP started a Spanish journo said it would take a while for players to fully adapt, that his systems would seem inflexible. He said at times we would shine and at times it would seem disastrous. But until the players got it, which they would in time, it would be vital to keep the faith.

This is exactly where we're at. I bemoaned not him adapting the formation last night. We could have set up like Chelsea would to try and get a result, I've decided I like the fact he is keeping to his ethos. What we have in the end will be worth it.

I reckon we saw the best club team in the world last night. The benchmark. There will be downs as well as ups this year. The positive is we have a manager who will stick to his philosophy. I don't want too many nights like last night, bit for now... I'm in

That is a good point, I have heard this often happens when he takes over the reigns of a new team

If he sticks to the philosophy of playing 2 against 6 in midfield against quality teams like that, with that kind of fluidity, he's an idiot.

There were few if any positives for me, other than leaving after Negrado's goal got me home nearly an hour earlier than normal, sadly I missed our best part of the game, but we weren't coming back, if they'd felt the need Bayern would have gone up a gear.

It was an awful performance on and off the pitch, with a number of our players resembling pub standard, no matter how good Bayern were.
