Post Match Thread: City vs Boro

Congrats Boro, that was a decent performance from them.

We were rubbish in the second half.

Bigger holes than Linda Lovelace throughout the back half simply a disorganised rabble that allowed them to have 8 shots on target in the second.

Lack lustre from a bunch of players who were not up for the battle and didn't know how to find the back of the net again.

i know. but they put it in the net and i thought they were quite organised.

Nervous? How on earth can those players be nervous when facing a Championship team (albeit a decent one) at home?

We absolutely dominated for the first half, and started the second similarly.
Once the goal went it, everything changed.

We were frustrated, and dropped off for 20 minutes, then rallied towards the end, but got sucker punched.

I thought it was a decent performance from City all in all, however, you can't win games unless you score.

I've said it many times, and I'll carry on saying it... City set their stall out to camp out in the opposition's half, and if a team gets all their men behind the ball, we struggle to break them down.
When it's not working out, we need to sit deeper and invite teams onto us a little bit more to create more space for ourselves on the counter.

As it stands, we are very predictable, any teams who can defend well stand a chance against us. IF we score, then the game opens out a little, but if we don't, we're absolutely prone to this sort of loss.

As good as we are, we cannot keep trying to pass the ball through 10 defenders.

We were far from crap though. I've no idea how anybody could reach that conclusion.

Yeh. A decent performance would have been not losing 2-0 to Middlesbrough.

Kolarov, boyata, Fernando , sagna , navas and milner wouldn't get anywhere near Chelsea's squad.

I'm an annoyingly upbeat sort of chap, even after a defeat.

That's a quality that should be instilled in all fans of the F.A. CUP.

very poor by us a shocking performance that 2nd half well done to boro they wanted more than us just HOPE now that we don't get beat at chelsea because there's no fucking way we will win that ..the heaven will burn before this happens

this manager has no idea how to setup a team to defend. time after time to many players forward, always getting caught on counter attack. pathetic !

stop blaming the manager. it doesn't matter. our players at this level should win against bror's even if we played hart at midfield and peller himself in the goal.

Sitting in a pub with a few blokes I used to work with, all Boro fans, I'm showing them some of the posts on here, they can't believe that people are having a pop at Milner. I'm with them on that. They all admit they laughed themselves silly when Ayala handled and fatty Dowd waved play on. I'm not downhearted, I'm going to have a few quid on beating Barca, odds will be great!

To be fair Dowd did look to the lines man on the other side who had no chance of seeing it
