Post Match Thread: City vs Boro

On the way home on the Metro.

The Smoggies played really well but fuck me the Ferns, Kolarov and Navas to name just four awful.

Fernando had 4 goes at stopping their first goal all at worst 50/50 and never made a positive contribution.

Kolarov ajhhhhhhhhhh we were right 20 months ago in the South Stand....shithouse get rid.

Navas ....... We may as well have player Barker didn't look like he'd ever he a cross in.

Comes to something when Boyata is our best defender.

The fat twat Dowd from my spot missed 1 nailed on pen (shove on Kun), my lad tells me the first half handball was also nailed on.

The linesman at South stand end also shit all through the game their second if he got it right would be the only thing all match.

I really hate to throwing away cup chances. Happens too often. All our eggs are now in either beating Chelsea or Barca.

Could be worse I suppose we could be playing Walsall in a league game.

Rant rant rant.

Apparently Manchester United lost at home today not City - so says the Six O Clock News on the BBC. They did not even apologise for the error afterwards.

To be fair, it's an easy mistake to make.

What the....?

Nervous? How on earth can those players be nervous when facing a Championship team (albeit a decent one) at home?
Did he honestly say that (haven't seen the interview)? For fuck's sake, that's ridiculous.

if that was decent i dread a poor performance

Yeh. A decent performance would have been not losing 2-0 to Middlesbrough.

If you believe that 'performance' and 'result' are synonymous, however, in the English language, they are not.

They may as well be when it comes to football, especially the cup competitions, since the result is all that's relevant. Dominating for 70 minutes is about as useless a statistic as having 70% possession. We still lost the game and it was still a bad performance.

Pellers just said on 5live. after they scored we were trying to do things too quickly, we needed to be patient and continue passing it around. This sums his greatest fault up in a nutshell. It's the very fact that we play so slowly and pass the ball to death that we get results like todays.

If we aren't going to take the cups seriously then why not at least give the kids a chance? It's getting to be a bit of a ducking joke now at this stage how abysmally we are playing against lower league opposition (and Newcastle reserves) in the cups

First real signs that MP is losing his grip on things.

I think he actually meant we were a disorganised rabble when defending in the second half about as bad as I have seen since the Hughes days.

Still losses but losing by two on the spin and at home and not scoring is a sign we are at the crossroads this season now.

This could go real ugly for MP now.

just what i was thinking, why not play some of the kids at least they would give us energy and show some passion. They are never gonna play.
