13 seats for the Tories in Scotland is really astonishing too, polling more votes than Labour FFS.
Absolutely no chance of another referendum for Sturgeon now.

He's hurting, that's why. The worm has turned giving the country a left wing ticket that can be built upon. The main objective I wanted was to derail the Tories and although I'm gutted they win 12 seats in Scotland they voted Tory for different reasons.

It looks like IndyRef2 is a dead duck for the forseeable. What does this mean for Sturgeon? who will lead the SNP at Westmister?

At least May is staying to steady the ship.

The kids, and they can only be kids, that have voted for Labour have done with no memory. It's the only explanation. They haven't seen the damage Labour have done in the past. Poor tories had to come in and save the country.

If I were manager of Westminster FC then the talentless striker May would go, the poor man's Claudio Bravo, Corbyn, would be shipped out to non-league, and the ventriloquist's dummy, Farron would spend a good time running the line at Hough End.

And there goes why we get the politicians we deserve. A kinder type of politics works both ways.

Sinn Fein has won seven seats so in theory the finish line is 322 although May will need the support of the DUP to give her a slim majority. Her version of Brexit will need to be tempered now although I can't see her surviving for too long. What is worryingly for me is the left wing mandate that Corbin has been given. Let's be honest he makes Michael Foot appear right wing. Interesting days and months ahead of us.

Steady the ship when she needlessly called this election that blew up in her face and further destabilised the country? Yeah ok then.

Agree Bill

The British people finally showed they are more interested in real political ideas rather than soundbites and vague promises.

I thought that this morning.

May's campaign has been rubbish soundbites and negative campaigning against Corbyn personally. With the odd kneejerk action and U-turn thrown in for variation. Maybe we'll be shot of Crosby now.

An epic night. I'll be really interested to see the implications for the two main leaders.

Surely May's ship is holed below the waterline?

Will Labour MPs decide Corbyn has personal appeal after all? Or will they try to steer the party towards the centre?

Despite what is being said,i cant see May staying as leader as she's failed miserably, and offers zero confidence.

Her campaign has been a disaster, while Corbyn's has been superb, and as someone who has little interest in politics, and wasn't sure which way to vote prior.......i would suggest, because of such, she is solely responsible for this result.

They've certainly seen the damage the Tories and Brexit have done in the present.

Its time to ask the really important question.

When Nicola Sturgeon gets the boots which person named after a fish will be leader of the SNP?

I am going for Finley Trout-Pollock

The Tories who have run the Country for most of the last 200 years BUT seem to want to blame any issues in Britain on former Labour governments, the EU, a few immigrants etc. - anyone but them. Why wouldn't the kids - as you condescendingly call them vote for change? Tuition fees, Zero Hour contracts, no prospect of ever getting in the housing ladder etc. whilst the 'golden generation' rich from their final salary pensions and rich from the profits of the housing boom demand cuts to public services to fund their pensions (remember pensioners are the one group not or see their incomes fall since 2010) and changes to inheritance tax to protect their housing windfalls. We are a country deeply divided on age lines and the youth of Britain do need to fight back to get the kind of deal their parents and grandparents enjoyed that is now being denied to them

She can't just quit though, not until a replacement has been found.
No-one would be running the country.

Politics is like football. There are too many variables to distill a result into one cause. The results of the referendum, the last local elections, and last night just show that people can occupy quite different viewpoints depending on the election they are voting in. Because the voted one way a year ago can't be analysed into forecasting with any certainty how they would vote next time. However, she has dropped a rather oversized bollock when she could have carried on. One of the worst cases of misjudgement seen in the political arena since WWII! Where's Winnie?

Went as well as it could from a labour view. If mainstream media had been anything like fair it would be even better. No matter, the youth and future of the country have spoken, time for the stale tory types to ride off and stare at their thatcher pictures now.
Thank god for Jeremy.
