Can someone please explain to me how we look so good against Sevilla and then a mere 2 weeks later we look so abject and devoid of ideas?

Tactics, mate. Sevilla played into our tactics. We look amazing when it works for us, but it doesn't happen often. Problem is, we only have one tactic, one system, one idea and no plan B.

Pelle has always relied on the quality of our stars to produce magic, Sivilla aside, I don't remember us winning due to his planning. 442 or 4231 constant attack. We needed 4321 today. Play for a draw and hope for a win. I understand Yaya was bad and so were the defense, but Uve played 10 men behind the ball for most of the game with only 2 rushing on counters.

What does Clichy do wrong...

He's quicker, he's alot more assured on the ball and defends alot better then Kolarov. He's not a left back that will stand out, however he does a good job. We all have different opinions and I respect that.

Fair enough, but I think we could agree we need a player that does both of the best of Clichy and Kolarov.......something neglected in our transfer policy so far.

Sterling has already had seasons in the Prem. The thing that gets me though is that some of our fans can't see a work in progress - especially when he cost a lot of money

His finishing is a weakness but as somebody else mentioned, he could have legit had 20 goals by now if he was good at it. He's a young lad, 3 years younger than the Lingard rag who everybody is saying needs time to develop.

If a 20 year old is missing 20 goals in 3 months then I think some people should think about how talented he has to be to get into those positions that often, and how big a player he'll be for us after a few years working on his weaknesses with our coaches. He reminds me not on talent but on attitude of Ronaldo when he was at United. He was seen as a diving waster who was never going to be good enough and kept either skying it over or jumping on the ground. He turned out alright. Sterling is spectacularly young, we have players in our youth team who are older than him.

Nice to read a logical post about Sterling rather than an emotional one.

Been missing Silva for 3 weeks now, the team looks jaded and we're missing a striker that we can only rectify in January for the CL squad.........drop Willy to make way.

Sorry mate, but sod the team that can only function with one player being fit. We are spending money like there is no tomorrow. Our manager is just one dimensional.
