Post Match Thread: Kiev 1 - 3 City

Excellent performance.

Like a graveyard in the BT studio. Lineker trying to spark them up as they are so flat.

Well done to Pellegrini for resting the players & also putting out a more solid team. Both fullbacks & Otanendi had a suicidal ten minutes but other than that, apart from some bad finishing, it would be difficult to spot a bad flaw in that.

If only Fernandinho could do that kind of work 3 times a week. He is a fantastic player & was influencing 3 areas of the pitch. Because he is that good, we could play 433 & allow him to break from midfield. We rarely see his attacking quality. He is not a defensive mid.

spot on it has been a constant this season unfortunately. Fernan is an out and out attacking mid but has been asked to do another job this year which has been a waste of his attacking talents

Funny but they beat Everton 5-2 at home in the Europa last season.
And they also beat Porto this season, but they were very poor tonight. It was easy and not because we were necessarily that great but because Kiev stood off us and let us play which was very surprising to see. You play Bayern, Dortmund, most teams in Europe and you expect a really competitive game

I don't think that game was that significant in terms of City's performance, although it was a fantastic result morale wise and for the next leg where we should be able to go through without using great resources to do so

Pointless question. If they are tired then yes, Pellers was right to rest them and at least have a chance of freshness or they would have been out on their feet. If they aren't tired, then yes, Pellers was right to rest them.
They are desperate for any angle. Hope Mr P gives them one in the presser with a volley of 'what do you know?'

I find it funny how they they say fuck all when bin dippers play youth against Exeter and West Ham yet when we do it we're disrespecting the cup

Duff accusing us of tapping up players under contract. Loved the lad as a player but the lawyers should be in touch over that. Not one post match replay of the three penalty appeals or any of our chances bar Yaya's goal. Really pathetic from RTE.

I might watch the 2nd leg on RTE via digibox. It'll be a joy watching the pundits squirming

Dear God, Rio, Owen and McPointy can you crack open a smile for once and remove the marbles you're currently chewing?. Any one would have thought that City had killed their grannies with their post match sadness and bitterness.
Cheer up! at least one English club can win in Europe and keep one hand on the 4th place CL qualification spot.

Has anyone ever stopped to think "what the fuck is a STONE WALL penalty"? Nobody knows. But we say it anyway.

Silva just doesn't look the same to me anymore, he seems to have lost that spark he used to have. We played brilliant today though and hopefully we can replicate that performance against the dipper cunts.

great performance all around but i really want to make special mention of Clichy. as close to perfect performance he has ever had.

on canadian tv, one of our national "pundits", a villa supporter, was banging on pre match that kiev were favourites, put your house on it etc.
bad and biased analysis is not confined to europe.

I watched him a fair bit before we signed him & we have seen a different player at City imo. I think he's brilliant & would be much more effective in more areas of the pitch, in a better balanced team.
