Post Match Thread: Kiev 1 - 3 City

think we more than deserved that 3rd goal......we came out slow in the 2nd half and could have cost us but.....3-1 is a great result and the 3 away goals is important.....Well done blues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im disappointed we only got 3. Aguero missed 2 and Yaya 1

I've watched Chelsea v PSG and Arsenal v Barcelona and those were proper games.

You can only beat what's put in front of you. And it's a very good night but the standard of the performance has to be measured against the opponent. That is all I am saying.

You can also say, that we didn't allow them to play. That is where their performance was at.
Just find it hard, that when we get a decent performance (finally). We get our own supporters
giving us the same criticism as we get from the tv pundits.

Why would I? I'm happy we won but doesn't mean I enjoyed what I saw, we consistently play bad, you can't go from looking on top and comfortable in the first half to nervous in the second because you're 2-0 up, we will be and have been punished for acting this way and with it so close to cup final day that performance tonight doesn't fill me with the up most confidence that a "great performance" would and should do.

Its fine if people don't want or like hearing criticism of City but blind sighting it to negativity is just being vague, I pick out the bad parts of our game and continue to do so be because its practically every week I see these faults and if I can see them and others can see them then why can't the coaching staff and the management see them?

Its all well saying we're in a final, we're close to the CL quarters, we're only 6 points off the top.... But I've even said to my mates if we were to win the league or a trophy at least I'd be happy obviously but at the same time I'd still be disappointed in our season as the level of football I've seen week in week out has been shoddy given the position the club is at and where we are.

Tiddlywinks might be more up your street

Sterling absolute dynamite tonight, ran them ragged, fantastic pace and vision this kid, put two on him -no mither. Best performance in a blue shirt by far , tracking back defending, always looking for the ball.

Under Pep he will be unstoppable .

21 years old !

Agree. Everything he did was positive

Best player in 2nd half

Sterling was good too when he was involved, had the beating of his fullback every time, just wasn't fed the ball often enough for my liking

That was the Sterling we all know tonight.

He's got the ability to terrorise any full back but quite often he lacks the self belief to carry this side.

I look at the likes of Hazard, Bale and Netmar etc and they all have an arrogance in their ability. They believe that they will beat any defender and will run at a defender when ever given the chance.

At times I think Sterling lacks this and he could be up there with the Neymar and Hazard's if he started to develop a more ruthless streak.

The fact he is only 21, is going to be managed by Pep next season, and I already think he can reach the elite level is a testament to how highly I rate him.

We played a team that has lost one european home tie in donkeys years , and we played them off the park , if we win on sunday and the dippers play shite , no doubt you will post the similar negative views .Good football teams do not allow the oppostion to play , and we were good tonight. Suggest you put the spade down now.

There will be some upset blue-mooners tonight. What a shower of shit some of our 'supporters' are. "Good first half, shit second; Kiev were shit and unfit; Silva is past it; Toure has been useless;" Just some of the comments I've seen.
The only English team to take a lead into the second leg; the first English team to win the first leg of ANY last 16 game for 4 years, 3rd English team to win in Kiev. Not good enough for some apparently. Dear oh dear.[/QUOTE

Its not good enough i wanted a 10-0 win

Jesus H fucking Christ. Just enjoy the fact that we've dominated a team who have an amazing home record in European competition. Off course we didn't do as well in the second half - do you not think they got a bollocking at half time and were told to up their game?

Just enjoy the fact that the Yaya and Pellegrini haters will be quiet for a day or two......mind you, you might be one of them, and that's why you're pissed off?

Martin Samuel is the best journalist out there! What's wrong with his report? (I haven't read it, genuine question)

He was basically going on about how this wasn't a great performance by city and saying at times in the 2nd half we were hanging on. He was harsh

What a stupid reply. It would have been better had you just kept that too a yourself as it offers nothing to what I originally said.
You are negative pal
Yeah things havent been good recently BUT We have just an important match in arguably the biggest competion in europe
And all you want to do is focus inparts on the poorer parts of citys game tonight

OK if you want to delude yourself into thinking we've just played a PSG, Bayern or Barcelona then you go ahead.
