Pozo

600k Daily Mail says.

He was just not good enough, I'm afraid, was completely out of depth last season when called, nowhere near Premier League standards. Good luck to boy.

He probably wasn't good enough, but to base it on two brief appearances playing out of position as an 18 year old is absolutely ludicrous, especially as he came extremely close to scoring vs Everton.

Maybe. But he just didn't show anything that could make me think there is something good enough in him for Premier League let alone our level.

Lopes and Pozo were 2 of our best prospects, they may not have been good enough but we never even gave them a fair chance to see what they were capable of. If we are going to overpay for average English players every summer instead of giving these guys a run in the first team squad then what is the point of the CFA? Before anyone mentions Ihenacho, Bony is injured, Aguero is not at his best, we are 2-0 up at home against Watford and he gets 2 minutes at the end. Not saying Lopes was the next Messi or anything but if arguably our best prospect can't make it then I can't see who will.

Completely agree, I'm pretty gutted about losing these two (more so Rony Lopes) - first saw him play about 3.5 years ago and called it very early on that he was a good player, he had a great left foot for a young kid. I really wonder if we'd have had Sterling a couple of years ago, would he have got the chance to play (more so than Rony and Pozo did) and I'm not sure he would... I could be wrong, but I think we made a mistake with these two. The other kids must look at them and think "sh*t they were better than me and even they've been sold on".

I'd argue with anyone who said we have better in attacking positions than these two - I thought the same a couple of years ago about Denis Suarez and Juan Roman, time will tell on all four I guess...

You're both really wrong about Pozo. Lopes, yes, but Pozo hasn't even been in the top 10-15 u21s for us for the past year and a half. He's regressed hugely.

Manu Garcia, ambrose, iheanacho, maffeo, angelino are the ones I seen reaching the first team first tbh
Angelino looks class for EDS, not so much (in my opinion) for NYCFC - I can't imagine him stopping a first class winger/ forward in full flight. Admittedly he won't be playing against Hazard/Tranny/Messi every week, but he has to be capable of doing that - and for me he's too small and slight.

We'll see I guess, but if neither of these two make it, I don't think any of our attacking players will for a long time. I am a huge fan of Brandon Barker at youth level but he didn't impress me in pre-season. That said, I was a huge fan of Alex Henshall when he was in the U18's and Jordi Hiwula - think I was wrong about the pair of them ;)

I hear that Devante Cole is already a fans favourite at Bradford though, scored a last minute winner at the weekend.

I remember when we signed him from Madrid, I was so excited that we bought Real Madrid youth star :)

But it seems there is less than 10% chance for youth player to make it here.

He was great. A proper star for our youth teams. He just got injured lads sadly. Messed him up. It happens.
