Pozo

He was thrown in at the deep end yesterday and because of City's FFP restraints and lack of reaction in getting someone in to replace the Beast it could have cost us dearly yesterday. Pozo did well considering the opposition he was against but City please get somebody in on loan or buy in January. We need to keep the pressure on Chelsea and OFF Sergio.

Clearly has a lot of potential, maybe in a different position, but should not be getting in our first team right now, he is not ready for the pace or physicality of the league. However, if the work permit can be sorted out soon, the Nigerian kid should be getting these kinds of opportunities; every opportunity he got in preseason he looked the part.

Unfortunately, Iheanacho is not here, so he couldn't play yesterday. Jose Pozo wax and he did play.

And he did very well, IMHO.

OK, he wasn't playing in his favoured position, but he came on, so that Pellegrini could stick to his plan of giving Džeko about 30 minutes.

He was very unlucky not to score and I'm sure he will gain much from the experience.

Hopefully, he will continue to develop and become a very important asset to the club in the years to come.

So he's got himself a business for when he retires? Good lad, thinking ahead.

Where has Iheanacho gone ?

I know he was waiting for a work permit but he was training here recently, where is he now ?

I think he was outstanding on Saturday. I was watching him very carefully. His awareness and movement were spot on. Needs building up a little but that will come. Very impressed with him and didnt look out of place at all.

I thought he looked a little lost for the first twenty minutes or so, but then maybe he sorted his head out a bit, and he was getting in good positions, making good runs etc after that.

Was so unlucky not to get a goal with that great save from Howard; brilliant positioning to make the chance though.

Also had a couple of really nice touches, especially when he wriggled around in the box with the ball at his feet to get the shot away

The best things about him getting on like he did today, firstly he was trusted by the manager when it would have been easy to send on Dzeko, give him 45 minutes, and then put the young lad on, good management, and he stuck with his plan for Dzeko, by giving him the half an hour. Secondly he's had to play out of his natural position for the team, this will be appreciated all round by team mates and coaches, and thirdly it will be real encouragement within the EDS that if they are good enough, and the manager trusts them, they will get their chance, even in a tough game.

Good all round, apart from the reason he had to come on obviously.

THIS!

I was thinking this yesterday. It would be great if he could stay around the squad now, and come on a few times over the next couple of months if we're 2 or 3 goals up, just to keep him progressing, and to let the rest of the youngsters know that if they are good enough, and take their chances, then they will be played.

I've found myself excited in ways that I haven't been about city for years. Finally, we might have a batch of youngsters coming through the ranks. Kelechi, Pozo, Lopes, and hopefully Rekik and Denayer can push through too... Now just want an English lad to come through and it really will be happy days!
