Pozo

Pozo played well, showed good movement & nearly scored. The experience will have done him a world of good & also gives encouragement to other youngsters at the club.

I saw a lot yesterday in this kid to suggest he's going to be a very good player wasn't afraid to get involved his movement and positioning off the ball looked intelligent didn't look out of place to me given a few more sub introductions to get the feel of the pace of the premiership think we may have a very promising young addition to our squad - well played young man.

I think Lopes got a loan to Lille because he got long periods of game time against West Ham in the League Cup and impressed.

If Pozo can do the same then hopefully a similar level club will come in for him, which is better than sending him out to the Championship or below.

We should be aiming to get top flight loan deals for all of our best youngsters.

Well said Skipper.

Theres some fucking idiots on this thread.

Clearly has a lot of potential, maybe in a different position, but should not be getting in our first team right now, he is not ready for the pace or physicality of the league. However, if the work permit can be sorted out soon, the Nigerian kid should be getting these kinds of opportunities; every opportunity he got in preseason he looked the part.

One thing strikes out : he needs to put on some weight on his frame to reach the next level.

Otherwise, i think he has the complete package to become a decent supporting striker :
good first touch ( miles better than Edin imho ), quick mindset and pace, decent ball skills.

With several late subs, he will improve game after game.

Rubbish,he handled himself very well and the continued exposure will benefit him enormously.

Don't think he's made to play the lone striker role, certainly not in the premier league. Aguero's small but he's also incredibly strong. Pozo lacks strength and against physical centre halves like Distin and Jagielka will struggle to hold the ball up. However, played just off a main striker, e.g. Dzeko, he could prove to be a fantastic addition to the first team squad. His movement and work rate were excellent, he'd certainly create space for whoever else he was playing alongside, and space is something Dzeko needs.

Pozo was born the day before Kinkladze's famous goal against Southampton.

I don't know whether he'll make it, but suddenly I feel very old.
