Prague

Love this place. Been four times and reading this thread makes me want to go back ASAP. Last time a few of us went in a pub called Prague 7 or something similar, it was happy hour and we were getting the huge steins of top quality lager for about £1.80. I really like the dark beer, it's beautiful, it's somewhere between lager and mild but very nice and strong. The prices in Prague itself are not cheap(especially near the Astronomical clock)but it's still competitive and nothing like Mcr town centre. You're also getting top class beer too. Love it!

Can still get a good pint for £1 if you know where to go (though not in the Old Town area).

Yeah, my mate found some places on the other side for around a quid, he even found a happy hour bar and it worked out at about 45p a pint. But like you say, usually a bit of a trek away. Still around 2/2.50 a pint when I was last there in a lot of places which is still bloody good value. Just a lot of places are more expensive now.

Anyone planning on a trip to Prague I can highly recommend two places worth a visit . Pivovar u medvidku which is close to old town . I don't always eat here but I like their own beer in the small side bar . They also have what they say is the strongest lager in the world . Another place out of town is a modern brewery with great beer and food . It's called vinohradsky Pivovar ( brewery on the hill )
