Should we be following the Arsenal route and start resting players in the Champions League?
If we do we will lessen the chances of us qualifying for the number two position you think is only postion left to us.
Seriously if we cannot get through with the squad we have despite our injuries and continue to use the warn out argument that Chumps League compromises the efforts in the premiership we might as well finish outside the top four ( perhaps soon to be three ) often enough to have a tilt at a title every three years or so.
Winning games is what it is all about and you do that by putting your best available every week.
In any case who can we rest we have 6 non starters and have to have kids on the bench tonight.
We have to win tonight pure and simple for a host of reasons one of which is to get back some semblence of winning form against a Newcastle side desperate for their first win on Saturday.
If you think either game is going to be easy especially with our poor mindset at present especially in Europe you are kidding yourself and without the best available playing its going to be even harder.
You don't want to roll up on Saturday having lost our last 4 games ( Sunderland excluded ) which would our worst run in a number of years and a manager under real pressure to deliver a performance on Saturday with a growing number once again calling for his head with a record of 6-4-0 miles below expectations off the back of one of the worst half's of football we have managed to contrive in many a year against a side we blitzed in the past couple of outings and losing to a side we should never to at home namely West Ham.
We really have dropped the ball once again and with consummate ease it seems losing three games we should have done and dusted and made lives harder for us.
We don't want to make it even harder by resting players that should be professional enough to win two games of football in a week against this opposition.
We are not Bayern or Barca or Real or PSG etc we are well below them at this juncture and the sooner the players and management realise this the better.
