I'm happy with that team. Would be nice to win it in the first half and then bring three kids on and protect the likes of Sergio.

Bear in mind that in any game there is a small chance of any player getting injured. If someone like Sergio gets a knock it's just one of those things. It could just as easily happen in the first minute against Spurs or in the last minute against west ham.

The club want glory this year. We have the squad to cope with fighting for four trophies in the winter/spring, so it would be daft to take the chance of blowing this tie by picking a load of kids.

Totally agree...

Disappointed with that line up to be honest, was hoping to see a couple of the young lads get a run out.

It's exactly the same outfield line up we had against West Ham bar Fernandinho getting a rest.

Think we could've put Maffeo in there, Garcia for Yaya as well. Maybe Roberts for Navas.

Worry as well that we need to rest some of our senior lads as well, Spurs on the weekend is a huge game, and we're playing twice a week for a while now.

Think Yaya could've done with a rest, Garcia would've been fine in there IMO, with that quality ahead of him.

You can't win with some people - I'm surprised at the strong line up but you can't go with the mindset of worrying about injuries before they've even happened. Also, it could be argued that Aguero needs the game time to help get his finishing back up to scratch and KDB needs the game time to help bed in with the team further.

Totally agree...

The hate for Navas in here is nothing short of diabolical when you consider him and Sterling have both demonstrated the same strengths and weaknesses in their start to the season.
navas is a near 30 year old experienced spanish international and should know better , whilst sterling is an admittedly pricey 20 year old kid , who has a lot to learn , and his best years ahead of him .The disappointment in Navas's "final ball" is the problem , you cant fault his workrate , but it all turns to sh*t when he has to cross the ball or score a goal.

I disagree, Navas has never gone missing, where has Sterling been the last 3 games, Navas might be low on confidence but that boy doesn't hide and always wants the ball

Caballero, maffeo, Otamendi, Demichelis, Kolarov, Fernando, Yaya Toure(c), roberts, De Bruyne, Sterling, Aguero.

how is this team weak ? its just the same excuses every time. surely this team here is strong enough ?
Of course it's not weak. We'd struggle to field a weak side, but the point I made was about getting the regular team back to winning ways. To do that you need to be shrewd about making changes. I'm sure Pellers isn't blind - he sees the squad far more regular than you or I.

Can see the reasoning behind going strong, puts the pressure on to win though - if we come through this with the win & no injuries & some goals for key players then it will obviously have been a good decision.

Would have liked to see Maffeo & Roberts purely from a fitness point of view for Sagna & Navas - for me the team is still strong with them in it, gives valuable experience to those guys & gives a rest to some of our players who've played a lot of football so far. Anyone who says we'd be too weak with Caballero - Maffeo MDM Otamendi Kolarov - Fernando Yaya - Roberts KdB Sterling - Aguero, is having me on surely? Would still be a damn strong team.
