Stubborn pride. What are the benefits of keeping it as 3 subs?
Just waiting for Herr Klopp to kick off about it after Derty lids kick 7 bells out of his boys. What a surprise, the clubs vote against an actual good and beneficial proposal. I really hope we get to see the voting so that we can see the irony in all it’s glory when a club that voted against it has their manager moaning about injuries and fixture pile ups halfway through the season. Beyond stupid decision.

It’s doubtful that Tommy Doyle would have been able to make his Premier League debut if clubs had been restricted to three substitutes post-lockdown.There’s none. whereas there’s multiple benefits for extending it. Doesn’t just benefit the big clubs with big squads either. Bigger teams with smaller squads get to rest more key players in games they’ve already won, weaker teams get to use games they’ve already lost to save key players for more crucial games ahead and try new players and new tactics. every single club regardless of their squad size or strength sees numerous benefits to this yet you can’t see a single advantage to keeping it at 3. It’s the classic resistance to change with no validation.
Not remotely surprised to see the infinitely more progressive Bundesliga vote in favour of it. Big boost to their teams in Europe and the national side too.
