Any rule that will allow more minutes to the young uns and potentially lessen the amount of injuries to players has to be good. Can't believe anyone can see it any other way. The best change in the rules for a long time.
Any homegrown player U21 who has made less than 20 appearances shouldn’t be counted in the number of subs allowed in the line up This would encourage managers to add more youths players and therefore if a team was in a comfortable position during a game they might be tempted to use them
So they are in the bench but not counted in the total number of subs allowed until they have made 20 appearancesIf you can't put them on the bench how do they get to 20 games??
I doubt Tommy Doyle would have played that 15-20 minutes if it wasn’t for the five subs rule.I like the 5 subs.
Might give some youngsters more of a chance.
