Yeah; pretty much all fans hate/dislike offside. But if it was scrapped, the game would turn into a "goal hangers' charter". Utilising offside is a skill, like it or not. Having your back line keeping a straight line, along with stepping up at just the right time is an art. As is the ability to spring the offside trap with a perfectly timed run to get on the end of a precise pass.

Yes there is a reason offside exists in football, rugby and a tonne of other sports and it’s because without that structure the games just don’t work as professional spectator sports. They become chaotic free-for-alls which is fine in a 5-a-side but the more players you add the less manageable it becomes.
