I wonder if VAR checked for a penalty. If the ball was live, that looked like a foul on Havertz.

That wasn't even close to being kept in play by shortarms.

Poor back pass, poor decision by Pickford to try and keep it in and gift the ball back to Chelsea and poor by the linesman to not spot it had gone out.

Was only 4 foot or so difficult for the naked eye.

Not how it works. If it goes dead they flag it, it’s not like offside where they wait and see

Terrible officiating but nothing to do with VAR

The TV angle is further away than the linesman was and it was obvious it had gone out.

No flag came because the directive is essentially "if you're not sure, don't give anything".

Was only a matter of time until a serious injury occurred because of it.

He's being treated with some ointment for bee stings, and some of his sister Dolly's Upside Down cakes.

Godfrey in a bad way here - had a look of shock about him that players who’ve broken their leg usually do. Hopefully not.

In part caused by the linesman somehow not seeing that ball had gone out of play. How?! It was about 2 yards out!

Officiating has been the usual crap standards already in the first week Already.
No consistency as rightly the Arsenal player got booked for diving but then Alti ignores a worse dive by Eze. Spurs Romero did a pathetic dive today, no card. Also a Spurs player should have seen red but ref and Var did not issue the card.
Leeds penalty ignored by ref and Var today also.
And we have Oliver/Dean show to come tomorrow.
