Premier League or Champions League?

What do you want us to win more?

Win the league again and we will just have to keep putting up with the noise about not winning the champions league. Win the champions league and that monkey is off our back, although the media love in of liverpool winning the league will be unbearable. It's on a par with picking your favourite child!

I'm not sure that I could fully enjoy winning the CL if there was a sour taste of Liverpool winning the league.

When we won the PL but Chelsea won the CL, I honestly felt like our achievement was far greater. I still feel like that. I know the CL is very difficult to win so it's not a very rational opinion. I've gotten used to being wrong and feeling right though. :-)

P.S. I want the FA Cup too. Or Else!

Bravado aside, everyone cares what people think about their club. Arguably City more than most, because everyone used to love us and now they hate us. If nothing else, it's pride.

I want to be the kings of Europe. I'd be proud to be the kings of Europe. I want every football fan in the world to know how good we are. And I want Pep. and the boys, and the Sheikh, and the staff, to have the pinnacle of their careers. I want to remember division 2 and being the laughing stock of the country, and stick my chest out and feel the emotion that only City fans can understand.

It would be as good as Aguero 2012 and Dickov 99. They are the moments that you take to the grave as a lifelong fan.
deserves more than a like, the "laughing stock" ref. really hit the spot. And anyway, keep winning the prem gets a bit "yawn" (entitled or wot :),)
I remember the night Eusebio handed the rags the EC, and the unbearable shite from their scum-bag jcl's. Been too long for payback, and as for the
shameless bus-wreckers, less said the better.

I'm too young for the original one but I remember the 99 one and people were out on the streets. Sad fucking bitter blue me was opening the window and calling them wankers.

I want to be the one on the streets waving flags this time. i want someone to call ME a gloryhunting wanker.

There are interesting options which the question (PL or CL) doesn't capture.

For instance, would fans prefer the PL title if it comes at the cost of losing (badly) the CL final vs Liverpool and losing also the FA Cup semi at Wembley? Surely not! Nobody would think City are the better team if we win the PL by 1 point, but lose the big cup games vs Liverpool.

Our fans would be happy if we win the FA Cup and the CL (especially if we beat precisely Liverpool in Paris), even if it means that Liverpool win the PL.

The PL or CL question is a bit too narrow. Still, if you ask the players, it's not a contest really. Why dismiss the players' (and Pep's) dream?

Mate, I proudly take to my grave the fact that I supported the best team anyone can support. With all the lows and highs. And without giving a flying fuck what any none City fan thinks about our club.

I am proud to be a blue. No matter what anyone thinks or how my club performs.
Imho that is what supporting your club is all about.

But I surely will let rags and dippers know if we won silverware. But I doubt they need reminding over the last 10 years.

Premier league. There's currently 6 other teams that can stop Liverpool winning the champions league. Only we can stop them winning the league.

Also, you can realistically win the champions league now without winning another game. Same can't be said for the league

So so hard to make the call on this.

I did a thread last season on City fans' views of the CL and it was largely damning on the competition.

I agree it would be a defining moment for the club. Something that I'd watch over and over again forever more. Much like the FA Cup win against Stoke and the Aguerooo moment.

I don't think it would stop outsiders saying things about the club. That will never go. We'd have bought it. They'd have won more. And if Liverpool were to win the league this season whilst we won the CL you can bet that their league win gets talked about as the greatest comeback of all time whilst our CL win disappears from headlines quite quickly.

I want us to win the league. We need to keep putting the rivalry with Liverpool to bed and winning the league again will help shut up the continuous commentary about them being at a similar level to us, when their trophy haul is pathetic in comparison. However, this position is only valid if they don't win the CL...so we'll just have to go and win both.

Our form isn't great. The players look out of sorts. But Chelsea were shite until Tuchel came in and they won the CL. We still have a point lead, we still have the easier run-in and they still have to come to our place. Form can change quickly, and they could lose a bit of momentum in this international break as we did in the previous break. It's quite easy for Pep to get the players back - take one game at a time but start the "every game is a final" chat that sees us through in all competitions.

It would also be lovely to go under the radar of their quadruple chat and go and win the treble!
