President Joe Biden

Statement of policy:
Today marks the 48th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark ruling in Roe v. Wade.

In the past four years, reproductive health, including the right to choose, has been under relentless and extreme attack. We are deeply committed to making sure everyone has access to care – including reproductive health care – regardless of income, race, zip code, health insurance status, or immigration status.

The Biden-Harris Administration is committed to codifying Roe v. Wade and appointing judges that respect foundational precedents like Roe. We are also committed to ensuring that we work to eliminate maternal and infant health disparities, increase access to contraception, and support families economically so that all parents can raise their families with dignity. This commitment extends to our critical work on health outcomes around the world.

As the Biden-Harris Administration begins in this critical moment, now is the time to rededicate ourselves to ensuring that all individuals have access to the health care they need.

fuck off extraneous involvement in other nations’ affairs
So where does America as leader of the free world sit with American citizens these days? Is it expected or is there preference for ‘America first’. I ask because my own view is that we need you at the forefront of global challenges like climate change. it will be fascinating seeing Bidens foreign policy unfold.

Sure — corporate tax rate, tough on China, buy American, fuck off extraneous involvement in other nations’ affairs — plenty of “business” reasons. And then there’s the “he speaks his mind” crowd; the “he’s not a politician” crowd; the “he loves guns and the flag” crowd. I mean this is all bullshit and ignores the negative consequences of his foci but I know plenty of otherwise smart people who supported him in 16 (but FAR fewer in 20).

But there’s also the dynamic that straight white male liberals are perceived as “weak” by straight white, male conservatives, who also perceive themselves as “strong”. SWMCs expect non-white, non-male and non-straight folks to vote for Democrats, but assume their friends, family, colleagues — their circle — is “strong”, and will vote Republican. It’s a given. That’s inherent and candidate-neutral. They are voting strictly party not person.
Your conservatives are very different to ours

How much did the religious vote sway the vote to Biden ?
Watching the news channels in the weeks leading up to the election I noted quite a few church leaders coming out in support of Biden, especially in Georgia.

I thought when Trump was elected he got a lot of the christian votes , did they leave him this time around ?

It won’t shock people to hear that Trump is very far away from Christianity, but people don’t understand how much he either doesn’t get it or is too arrogant to care.

His recent interview on the subject probably had many Christians fleeing, I couldn’t believe what came out of his mouth.

Biden is pretty down the middle and inoffensive on the subject, which is pretty clever in a secular society.
