President Joe Biden

Good to know.

But, IMO, not quite enough.

One must actively denounce such as Trump.

While simultaneously expressing your beliefs.

Both Bushes, Regan, Romney, Schwarzenegger and so on - probably so-called "RINOs" are the sort of candidate I'd consider voting for. Truthful; centrist; open to science if not outright believing in science; willing to speak truth even if unpopular.

Most of your posts seem to be about knocking attacks on Trump as being biased, hypocritical, or whatever - if you don't support Trump why post such?

If any of the above Republicans were to run against Biden in the next election - I'd have to carefully consider my vote. I'd most likely end up voting for Biden - but I wouldn't be unhappy if he lost to any of these.
I defend your right to edit although I disagree with your premise.

As a tangential aside - Nixon was brilliant. His diplomacy lead to a huge breakthrough in our relationship with China. And he acted to end the Vietnam war - my sense is that this was against his original instincts but he acted to achieve this end nonetheless.

Too, Nixon was an intellectual - articulate and charismatic.

His undoing was his drive to remain in power - and his neurosis that numerous others were out to get him. And this led him over the line in his attempt to remain in power.

Compared to what Trump has done - on record - and clear for all to see - Nixon was a saint.
Bollocks. Nixon actively undermined the Paris peace talks that were ongoing during the 1968 presidential election through the back door, and succeeded in ending them. He was campaigning on ending the war and if those peace talks actually achieved that then he wouldn't have won, which he knew and so he sabotaged them. He then escalated the war, and worse he took it into Cambodia and Laos. To be fair, that post was very bollocks

Let’s agree Nixon was a flawed, mercurial, racist, paranoid but also sharp and left with a bad hand in Vietnam from Johnson and Kennedy. He also didn’t mind increasing regulation for broader aims (the EPA was his creation). Somewhere inside he did care about the nation but as a manic depressive suffering from excessive paranoia, that was always going to impact his actions and his politics outside the public eye.

LOL!!! Mate, I, ummmmmmmm, don’t think you’ve actually listened to the lyrics of that song!! They make MY point, not yours.
I respectfully disagree FREEDOM of CHOICE is what you want , FREEDOM FROM CHOICE Is what you got.

Devolution are singing to me this time not you Fog.

Better to abstain and keep the peace than to choose someone you have no time for because you have hatred in your DNA for the other one.

Sigh. Arguing with me about Devo. I've seen it all now. The "freedom from choice" line is meant IRONICALLY, as a CRITICISM. It is a LITERAL CRITICISM of choosing not to decide.

In ancient Rome
There was a poem
About a dog
Who found two bones
He picked at one
He licked the other
He went in circles
He dropped dead

Jesus tap-dancing Christ, it’s about the Burdian paradox! Look it up.

You are literally back-asswards (pun intended) wrong.

oh the irony of irony.

So Fog places trump voters on a higher pedestal than those who don't.

Ok so they are not to blame for the cult they are sheathed in I suppose you contend.

Not many likes from the echo chamber on this one Fog I will suggest.

BTW I am not arguing with you , you just failed to see the irony of my post.

I am fully aware of the paradox which is why I posted what I did.

the Ass assumes you have a choice and choose neither given as you state you must choose one or the other.

but do you?

Not where I was coming from however fog as perhaps you can see now so here is the idiom.

As so blind are those than cannot see.

Trump is no fan of Devolution and I am no fan of Trump.

Heard of Michael Hauskeller?

You would be aware of Newtons third law of motion.

The Ass is still with us Fog and literally is a very much overused and unnecessary word.

It's Buridan not Burdian but I'm not sure whether it's got much to do with the Devo song. Buridan's thesis was essentially about free will not freedom of choice. But this piece ( "Incoherent ramblings of an undiagnosed lunatic" ) makes the connection about why we choose people to make choices for us. Just don't choose a narcissistic sociopath.
