Pressure is on Manchester City - Harry Redknapp

Unbelievable, this level of sycophancy by James Lawton may take the cake for Spurs arse-kissing.

lol, truly blinkered stuff. Couldn't resist adding my own comment, looking forward to seeing the bites tomorrow

A pretty nauseating piece of journalism by Lawton. Thankfully his credibility is shot after his "United to sell Rooney" exclusive. A bit of a sad old piss can these days, by all accounts.

Did you happen to hear Lawton that night the story broke, on Radio 5 trying to defend the story?

It was embarrassing.

It was like someone with Alzheimer's trying to explain the Hadron Collider.

It's funny how every time a plucky underdog is faced with playing City, they routinely quote the differences in spending.

I don't recollect them ever using this approach when the Rags play Wigan... "Oh, I know it was 5-0 but look at the different amounts they've both spent on players". Never happens.

And yet for the ten years previous to our takeover, when Spurs used to routinely beat us... having spent vast amounts more than us... Lawton and his cronies never did us the favour of pointing out the chasm in our spending levels.

Harry was a genius the way he took Pompey to an FA Cup win... spending absolute millions the club didn't have in the process, and ultimately nigh on bankrupting them in the process. Funny how that's now forgotten.

Harry likes to spend as much as anyone does. He's just bitter he can't spend more. That's all.

Spot on. Nor for that matter did they routinely point this out when utd were lording it over us in the nineties and naughties and we couldn't get above the glass ceiling or even hope to.

Quote.."Daniel [Levy] runs this club as it should be run. He is not going to put it in debt like that, it can't happen here. When you can buy players like that [Aguero] you have got a chance, haven't you? Same as when Chelsea started breaking the bank and buying all the top players at that time.

"I'm one of the lucky ones. I'm sitting in the top six. I'm no cleverer than Roberto Martinez. He's probably cleverer than me. He's sitting at the bottom of the league because he hasn't got the players. He can't afford to buy the players."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

And just how much money have Spuds spent on players compared to Wigan ??
they just answered their own fucking question..

Thats why Spuds are 3rd and wigan are bottom... Wigan couldnt afford to loan Adebayor either yet the team that did are 3rd with Adebayor top scorer..

hypocrites of the highes order..

It's nice to see that Harry has finally woken up to the realities of running a football club.

It's just a shame that he didn't have those views while in charge of West Ham, Bournemouth, Portsmouth and Southampton.

Easy thing to forget. A bit like your tax returns, eh?

What I do recollect is that they all used to say 'money can't buy success'. Suddenly that is all forgotten (as with everybody else's spending by the way) as they now point out that money should buy success and Mancini should not be able to fail. I know it is all about a Spurs love in etc and selling papers but it still never fails to irritate me (ok, infuriate me, if I am honest!).

British media think he´s fookin Del Boy - everyone´s lovable but fookin "bent" barrow boy rogue

Pompey fans hate the coont even after winning them the cup

That must be a fookin first!

The comments from the twitching twat are a disgrace. What the fuck have you ever won Redknapp?
