Priced out? | Club announce that matchday tickets being reduced by up to 43% (p93)

If you’re a regular match-goer it’s pretty easy to spot a tourist.

Thing is when people have a go at the lines of tourists it's the club that the fans are having a go at not the actual tourists.

Unless they jump up screaming and videoing when the scouse score that is ;-)

Nope that's not it is it? When we are unsuccesful again where are the fans who are coming in? Are the club helping younger local fans to get involved in the club?

The "New" fans aren't excited they are there for the event, the club shop and the social media clicks. This isn't football and it's unsustainable.

You have to cultivate your support not shit all over it.
We can do both and get the balance, football in 2025 isn't the same as football in 1985,any mor than 85 was the same as 1955, or 1915,and won't be the same again because younger generations behave differently and have different expectations. Is that better or worse, depends who you ask but it's not all bad and many things are better now than then.

Football is on its arse if as I pointed out the average age of a Chelsea season ticket holder is 59, all it takes is a lean spell and the club goes tits up.

There are no younger generations if the club want to just attract club shop attendees with no concerted policy to ensure return consistent visitors.

That new stand is going to be like a vulture casting a shadow over the club if we don't be successful again, the new fanbase wont wait around they'll be supporting a side that's successful and they can boast about on social media.

You need to call them perhaps, 2 full months is even over their stated 45 day upper limit. This is presuming your bank details are correct and up to date.

4. Payments, fees, and charges

4.1. Sellers whose tickets are listed in accordance with clause 3.2 of the Ticket Exchange T&Cs above shall be entitled to payment as set out in this paragraph 4, regardless of whether or not the relevant ticket issuccessful resold via the Ticket Exchange. In all other cases, payments will only be made to Sellers whose tickets are successfully resold via the Ticket Exchange.

4.2. Payment will be paid into the UK nominated bank account of the Seller within 45-working days from the date the Match is played (in the unlikely event that payment cannot be processed within 45-working days, the Club will contact the Seller with an update on when payment can be expected). If a Seller does not provide a UK nominated bank account, the Seller will receive a Club voucher for the value of the ticket price within 45-working days from the date the Match is played (such voucher will be valid for 12 months from date of issue).

4.3. It is the Seller’s responsibility to ensure that their nominated bank details are up to date and correct, and for the avoidance of doubt, the Club shall accept no liability for funds paid into an incorrect bank account where the Seller has provided incorrect bank account details or failed to ensure their details are correct.

Edit: whoops...
It's fucking ridiculous. I've worked in payments for the DWP and a bank, and a direct credit via BACS takes 3 working days to get into an account once sent. Let's be charitable and assume that it takes 5 working days to process that repayment and put it into BACS. That's still less than 10 working days.

You seem to have all the answers - whether you’re right or not is obviously not up for debate.

Maybe but providing things that we as 18/ 19 year old wanted , won't attract many 18/19 year olds today not enough to fill a stadium every week. They have much more choice and expectations now and many want to split their time between football and other stuff

Lots of different ways of doing this. We also need new supporters - not just local ones. The game has changed & is global. All clubs have “tourists” & need them. Just my opinion of course - which you will undoubtedly disagree with.

Exactly - & who are all these “legacy” fans who the “tourists” are stopping from attending?
I guess, based on the premise that tourists only like the big games, we should be packed to the rafters for the next low key league cup & FA cup games??

Are they not the Bournemouth returns? They've only just popped up in the last 2 or 3 days and not everybody wants to subject their kids to abuse from away fans. Besides, there's still a couple of weeks to go.

Nice rant but meaningless I'm afraid.
Hardly a rant....you haven't spent enough time on the matchday thread if you think I was ranting :-)

I go to all the home games, and the only time I've seen away fans in the home ends is on a CL night in the non-season ticket areas. I think you're mistaking Asian fans for tourists.
Asian? Generalising again.

Tickets for an adult and 2 kids for Bournemouth at home, £51 for all 3! and about 1,000 left at that price. That's a game at 4:30 on a Sunday so no midweek excuses, no early kick off explanation.
They've badly messed about and disrespected the fan base over the past 3/4 years and it's coming home to roost.
6,000 more seats to sell next year, they might be begging for season ticket sales.
If they're struggling to sell 3 tickets for £50 for a premier league game, they've got something badly wrong. We've been telling them on here for years....
Stupid sales criteria, fake sell-outs to push hospitality, prioritising resellers and agents ahead of local fans....people just get out of the habit of going.
Have you actually bought them at that price, coming up as £30 adult and £18 juniors for me ?

The reason/excuse for legacy fans not turning up is primarily ticket prices even though they've been reduced, and being treated simply as fodder for low-key games.

When you allocate to matchday members it gets applied
I bought them in the family stand for this game and paid £38 and £18 , no discount applied.
I queried this elsewhere on here earlier this season and was told discount is already applied

Yeah it's weird, this year there is no discount, it's already factored in. But if you buy in the returned Bournemouth section, they deduct £5 from each ticket. Can't explain it.
I assume the logic is that the £30 tickets are capped price away tickets, so are not part of the general price reduction on matchday tickets, and they can apply the member's discount. That's just a guess.
Anyway, charging £51 to bring 3 people to see the world's hottest striker can't be knocked...

I've just gone on the ticket site to look at dortmund tickets and £5 was discounted when I put in my details, it's not making sense especially when the £5 discount is advertised as applying to premier league games but only visible on champions league games
