Priced out?

If one of the streaming services get hold of the premier league and bring in a £10a month watch every game deal, I think you’ll see stadiums suffer, they can get around the 3pm ban by playing games at stupid times as they currently seem to be doing. It would certainly dent illegal streams I know I’d definitely buy into it if I could watch every City game.

Each to their own but I’m pretty sure if I only watched City on TV I’d lose interest pretty quickly. I’ve killed the league cup and champions league schemes recently as it’s a right ball ache getting to midweek games (after 45 years of crossing the Pennines!). However without those fortnightly Saturday/Sunday Etihad fixes I’d probably find something else to do. And I believe season tickets in certain areas of the ground eg South Stand L3 still represent good value for money compared to other forms of entertainment. Although I accept not everyone can get hold of one.

I'm convinced that once the club(s) find a way to monetise armchair fans more efficiently, say through individual tv rights and virtual season tickets, that they will have to reduce admission prices to get people to actually attend and provide the dramatic backdrop to the product.
That was said when sky first got involved, don't hold your breath !

That's the first thing I thought after I heard about this.
Its brilliant he's signed.
But the money he's on is insane when the club just keep ripping fans off.
I don't think be going much anymore
You should be very grateful you have a choice to either go or don't go.
I wish I had that choice to make.
Make the most of your choiceses whilst you are here, you're a long time dead.

True mate. Plus the majority view on here has been to mock the virtual stadia / watch from home initiative. I think it could work internationally but even City’s Directors describe it as a punt.

The intention is for there to be a full live Etihad and one or more full virtual Etihad. If it works it could be greet for our Club to sustain an outstanding team and increasing number of affordable match tickets.

I could be mistaken, again, but isn't that technology already available but the PL will not allow individual TV deals.

They'd still put the matchday prices up if a 100 million people paid to watch it virtually, every subscription comes with a half and half scarf and a pamphlet explaining how you should behave in your own living room whilst attending the virtual match.

The main reason I don’t want us to get a points deduction that puts us in the Championship next season, isn’t the relegation itself. I wouldn’t mind that so much.

But looking at their new TV deal this season, I reckon the vast majority of our games would be 12.30 kick offs.

I am grateful.
I've been going since 84.
I'm not paying 700 odd a year.
Tickets in my name still a lad has it this season.
Think I'll let him have it next aswell

Just had a thought about pricing etc, not sure where to post it, here seems close to okay.

For a good few years we all thought we had the best owners possible. We see clubs with American owners just chasing the money and taking money out of their clubs while we would invest and improve the club.

Now there's year on year price increases, plus others things mentioned in this thread. Is it a coincidence that most of this seems to have happened, or got worse, since Silver Lake invested in us? How much actual control do they have over our direction and in day to day decision making? Do we as fans even know who the people running Silver Lake are?
