There are still concerns of population growth putting burdens on NHS,housing, traffic etc regardless of whether someone is migrant or has been issued a visa - which I think is justified and also noting the underinvestment from successive governments over the years in these areas

If the tiny fraction of migrants entering the country is no issue - then why don't the Government (whatever party) come out and say we'll offer safe passage to unlimited numbers from abroad as whatever the number is, it isn't a problem? why aren't they doing that already?

record numbers of people crossing the channel every week is a problem regardless of Government, you think 1300 people arriving in dinghy's including Children and babies in the last 24 hours is ok ?

It's dangerous and inhumane for starters and the increase in numbers has doubled from last year

The government could care less about immigration. It’s being used as a diversion for the utter incompetence of our client politicians. Folk like you lap it up.

population growth in my area (Dartford) has increased 20% in the last 10 years, the highest in anywhere in the UK

It's impossible getting an appointment at Doctors to the point me and my wife have to go A&E and wait hours for any treatment we need or for our baby

Traffic is unbearable, we have to use the Dartford Crossing a lot and its gridlocked so often

- as mentioned, Immigration is not the sole cause of population growth and the above - but I can have some sympathy with people who are seeing record numbers arriving in the UK with an ever increasing population growth already.

I'm not anti immigration, far from it. just think there needs to be a solution to many issues with the channel crossings. If opening safe passage and having unlimited numbers to come here safely is the right way to go - then i'd be for it.

I think most would accept that there are pressures on schools/housing/NHS etc.

Whether asylum seekers are a prime factor in those pressures is very questionable - it is undoutedly what some media and some politicians want general populace to link together, but may not be supported by actual data.
If we're letting in hundreds of thousands of immigrants in other ways, that will have far more effect.

It could also be viewed as being a misdirection to evade that there is no planning, not enough NHS capacity, not enough schools and other expensive things. There are plenty of new estates where there are no local shops, no pub, and the schools are oversubscribed.

It's a bit like when Farage et al were claiming that the entire population of Turkey would come here - it is and was a complete lie, and immigration from outside the EU was higher than from the EU - it would have muddied the "EU force us to let people in" narrative that was a key feature in arguments for Brexit.

I don’t think it’s ok. I don’t think shit floating down rivers is ok. I don’t think the serial underfunding of public services is ok. I don’t think the dog shit we have for a government is ok. There’s plenty to chose from.
I don’t think the obvious diversionary tactics used by this government and their media wing are ok. It encourages people like you to concentrate on one area while ignoring others. Immigration is not the major issue In this country today.

why have a thread to deal with migrants if its zero problem and no issue at all ?
