Not really the clue is in the word welcomed. The irony of her family being welcomed as refugees in the past is definitely lost on her.

Absolutely, and if my family was being bombed, daily, I would want to move elsewhere and I would choose where I imagined I would be treated best and my family would be safe and secure.on the topic of migration, already posted before in the past. Few years ago, was in London. And in a cafe, met a couple of Syrians. Got talking, more on the political sides of things. How he mentioned losing his house, business, possession etc. Very upsetting to say the least.
Anyhow i got on to how he arrived in the UK. He said, in a lorry. I laughed at his reply. He didn't. Explained how he did it. The guy with him, came in a taxi boot. I shit u not. So bottom line is, the govt can implement all these rules. But on the ground its a different story.
Totally agree. But then people coming from war torn places, dont u think one out of 10 would have that hatred for the west. I mean the seed of wanting revenge has already been planted wouldn't u say? its like me coming to destroy your home, and then inviting u to live at mines.Absolutely, and if my family was being bombed, daily, I would want to move elsewhere and I would choose where I imagined I would be treated best and my family would be safe and secure.
So it is all the fault of the west that their countries are war torn? Glad we've sorted that outTotally agree. I went through the whole system and its process starting in 1995 and it was no less dysfunctional even then.Patel admits that the asylum system is dysfunctional. That would be the system she is responsible for. The one that accepts fewer asylum seekers than most other European countries and spends most of its time not making decisions or fighting appeals.
It was less dysfunctional. Asylum applications 20 years ago were much higher than now but cases pending now are the highest ever.I went through the whole system and its process starting in 1995 and it was no less dysfunctional even then.
