Priti Vacant has a plan, a deal with migrants plan.

until we left the EU and cancelled our own FoM I had 27 other counties I could simply have travelled to and said " Love it !! I am staying" because it was my legal right to do so.
And when THE LAW CHANGED, I assumed they stopped doing it, right?

Thus, one may simply assert if the law never allowed it in the first place, they would not have done it.

Also, I provided the net migration figures for the UK. Not nearly as many people as you might think gave it all up for the EU…even when it was readily available.

Once again, that “Democracy is a woman” thing working against you, eh?!

What next, UK citizens seeking asylum in warmer Euro climes because their “cold, war torn country” is no longer suiting their needs? OR, will they follow the laws and seek another solution?

But you haven’t thought that through though. Whilst it’s a lovely “idea”, in reality it means that you won’t have a job as there are 1,000 people that would do your job for 1/3rd of your wage because you, like I, were lucky enough to not be born into a war torn country with 70% unemployment.
But, of course, we would naturally be an economy that pays a fair wage and doesn't need to government to prop up the wages of full time employees because their employer doesn't pay them enough to afford somewhere to live. Let's face it, our idea that the world and his wife want to live here is outmoded and arrogant. Swathes of our country cannot even afford to buy a house or even rent one, despite working full time.

According to the news yesterday morning we have about 2000 boat people coming across every month. So we are going to lock them all up? Where? How will the justice system cope getting that many people through courts every month?

The problem is this won't be met with widespread revulsion even though it should.
That's where we are atm with the general public being spoon-fed the idea that there are millions sneaking into the country and making it the mess it is.
Then, speak truth to power!

The number of net immigrants is about 100,000 per year, or about 25% of total population growth.

In an already deeply multi-cultural society, these numbers can either seem normal or disturbing. From there, policy often results.

However, one must also recognize, IF these numbers seem “normal” they’re much lower than they would have been were it not for the laws restricting immigration of all kinds.

Conversely, if these numbers seem disturbing, then it follows that any further laxity in already seemingly lax laws could be considered devastating.

From such viewpoints come narratives that fit their ideological slants.

Accordingly, I ask what’s the non-ideological, “Bluemoon democracy” ANSWER to the legal and moral dilemma of displaced (whether voluntary or not) populations on your doorstep?

There are 5.5m UK nationals living and working abroad, permanently, and I cannot stand the hypocrisy that says that is okay but we don't want them here.
Do you have any idea how difficult it is to get a work visa outside the U.K.? There’s no hypocrisy (though having said that, I’m also pro EU and pro free movement of labour so I’m more left than Rascal on that one)

Let's face it, our idea that the world and his wife want to live here is outmoded and arrogant.
Lots do though*, that’s the point of the thread. You can’t have it both ways.

*for some weird reason, the weather is shite, the pay isn’t great and the tax is far too high.

Don’t know the answers but 4 years prison seems a tad harsh in my eyes.

should set up a new scheme, if they manage to swim it they get a British passport. If they can't we give them a hooky French one and put them on the first ferry back to Calais.

Once again, your anecdotal “body of evidence” is fatally undermined by the facts.

This suggests a rather large increase in recent years over the historical norms of 400,000 population growth, including 100,000 immigrants.
