Private plates

The simple answer, much as it annoys all the left wingers on here, is that they can! And good luck to them!
Whilst the planet screams "NO!". Obviously it doesn't "really" apply to number plates, but capitalism has a price, and it's only really cost us the planet, hasn't it.

Good luck to them, indeed

I don’t understand why some people are so angry and judgemental about private plates. If someone wants to spend their own money on a purely cosmetic thing then so what, it’s nobody else’s business. It’s no different than spending a load of money on a Gucci t-shirt instead of going to Primark and getting one for a quid.

(And no I don’t own a private plate, or want one.)

It's basically the politics of envy. It's the same when these people see others driving big expensive cars. Quietly they wish they could do the same (but would never admit it), but they can't afford it, so it brings out the 'if I can't have it, you can't have it' mentality.

Completely agree mate.

Agree with your sentiment but, as mentioned in an earlier post, it is or can be very different to buying a T-shirt: a good private plate will appreciate in value or at least hold its value.

Never interested in the value of plates, or actually anything to do with the value of cars - I've always bought my cars for me (not for the next owner) on the assumption that if its worth ANYTHING when I've paid for it, that's a bonus
