Genuinely want to know why, in your opinion. If you can afford it you’re much better in south Manchester in general.

What about renting somewhere in town or is it not recommended? I always get told of the rent is dead money phrase
Agree with the Metrolink system, not convinced with property prices, Grammar Schools in my opinion should not be a factor as all education should be a level playing field regardless of location.Better schools. (Grammar school system means a top class secondary education for free)
More extensive metrolink system.
And yes, there are bad areas south of the city as we all know, but generally the significantly higher property prices are indicative of supply and demand in south mcr.
Good grief people rent at £1k a Month, a mortgage on a 120k house would be approx. £450.i live practically in the city centre (nr Gt Ancoats St) and i'm surrounded by flats owned by a joint organisation called 'manchester life' ... in other words Sheikh Mansour and the local council!
And they are always increasing the rent, it was in the local paper ... i think it's around a grand a month to live there now.
it is a great place to rent thougjh.

Would you not class Trafford as West Manchester ?You are right and I agree with you (one of the reasons I loathe Dianne Abbot sending her little darling private- but that’s for another time!) but sadly that’s the system in Trafford currently and it’s an attraction to many decent families.
