Property advice for first time buyer

And the rest! A lad I recently helped find work and relocate to Manchester pays 1200pm to live at “Angel Gardens” he’s only young and I was trying to explain how daft that is..... (he’s on a decent but not spectacular wage) all he could say was “but we have a gym onsite, a footy pitch on the roof and they do a pizza night once a week for us”
Unbelievable, my old man RiP always told me rent money is like throwing it down the drain, wise words Dad although I get that these days it is hard to raise the down payment on a Mortgage at 15% plus.

He sounds like a pretentious twat

Good grief people rent at £1k a Month, a mortgage on a 120k house would be approx. £450.

One of the apartments near me, Bovril .. is right on the top of a block of apartments called 'Ice Plant' ... and it's £3k a month to rent it!

AGUERO'S said to have acquired a luxury rooftop apartment on Deansgate and the rent is said to be £8k a month!

Completely depends what you are doing now, if you are living at your parents stay there. Put the £1500 you would be spending renting away each month and look at it again in a years time when you have £23K in the bank.

Yep. you did well .... which area of London was that?

My stepdaughter lives in leafy Greenwich , and she'll probably sell hers in five minutes if she ever decides to leave!

Newham. Where Upton Park was. It’s the last affordable area and there’s a shortage of houses.

Two bidders offered £15,000 under the asking price. The two girls got overexcited and paid it. Should be through soon.

I lived in South Manchester as a student and was keen to leave. Longsight was crap and Victoria Park boring.

As I’ve said, Failsworth was a hidden gem and Droylsden handy for City. Good Holts’ pubs on the strip including The Halfway and The Grove.

Some nice places gone up in Droylsden recently by the Canal, called it a Marina.

Great if you can afford it, as I said previously rent money is like throwing it down a drain. If you can afford 8k rent you can afford a 750k Mortgage, each to their own but thanks for that interesting post.

So let me get this straight, 2 lezzas have got overexcited, and are close to completion, and no one has asked for pics? Standards gentlemen, standards.

i suppose many people nowadays just don't want the hassle of owning a property ... or the inconvenience and hassle of both finding, and dealing with, tradesmen to actually do jobs , who are often shady or unreliable .... they like to just quit places and relocate in an instant , aas they please, with minimum notice.. .. rather that undergo the hassle of first buying , and then maybe selling a house.

Plus you can lose thousands if you do come to sell and at the time of sale it's a 'buyers market' because there's plenty of housing choice available, forcing the seller into lowering his asking price.
