Property divide issue

I would advocate a gentle, friendly but firm and fair approach in determining what your neighbour's thoughts and intentions are in terms of the wall/fence. If that fails perhaps a can of unleaded though the letter box?

Just spoke to the tenant, it is her cousin who owns the property.

Got his number and his phone turned off, text him but apparently he on holiday in the Ukraine

He could be part of the Ukraine mafia, thinking the fence not too bad now :)

His enthusiasm to raise the wall and the prospect of mafia involment is not encouraging.

Is he trying to hide something?

Looks like a building partition. Rip it down and tell him to go & fuck off.
Just dis-assemble it rather than smashing it down so the wood is not damaged and just stack it neatly in his garden.
Do it at night so no one sees you, or when they are out at work.
Rinse and repeat until he gives up.
I wouldnt have left itup long enough to get a picture.

It will tell you on your house deed's which side of the boundry you are responsible for.If it is their side i'm not sure you can do much except have a nice conversation and try and sort it out nicely

This this and a bit more this.

Until you determine who's responsibility you can't do owt bud. I'm in the process of renavating a property. The garden has three boundaries I'm responsible for two of them.

Have you asked them why they want an extra 2 foot of fence?

It may be they want to get a dog, or like sunbathing nude, or any number of reasons - best to find out what they want to achieve so you can work out a compromise/solution I think.

Must admit, it looks a bit rudimentary, and a strong wind might take it and the lovely brick wall down too as it's solid.
