Prostate cancer

All the best to you..well done on stopping smoking..green tea, cut out dairy, go low carb, intermittent fasting, pumpkin seeds, zinc supplement, tomatoes, green leafy vegetables..all will be beneficial and with your positive attitude you'll be fine blue

Good post and I was about to say something very similar as it's within the job role I have.

Some studies have shown that intermittent fasting, if done correctly, is highly beneficial for 'starving' some cancers, but it also means a complete overhaul of a diet, cutting sugars out completely (if you can) as cancer feeds on glucose, in sugar in the main, to grow.

But, there are are different thoughts on it.

*I hesitate to post this, but I'm only doing so to show the overall thought process still being worked on.

Other thought processes:

One can only do their best, with whatever knowledge, to stagnate the growth.

Sorry to hear this. I read somewhere very recently that there is a new very successful laser treatment that is used to treat it. Good luck with it all
Yes a new breakthrough treatment is now available

Again, sorry to hear this , me (and my best mate, who’s just lost his two brothers the past couple of years to cancer) are going through tests at the moment, I’m a higher risk due to certain meds I have to take.
Did the Docs just come across this or was it prompted by changes you noticed ?

Ok mate, my very best friend who I met at at age 11 at School (62 now) was diagnosed in 2015 with this horrible disease. He went to the Doc’s as soon as symptoms appeared, wanted to pee all the time and when he did there was no “motor” it just dribbled. Unfortunately for him the cancer had already spread into his pelvis so there was no point in removing the gland. He was put on hormone treatment and given radiotherapy. He was also in the care of Christie and Stepping Hill which is the GM specialist Prostate centre.

We shared a room on a golf break in summer of 2015 and he broke down saying thought he had just a couple of years left. He’s still here, we play golf, go to City games and have a few beers, I don’t know how he copes mentally but in the last 7 years he’s become a Granddad to 2 kids that his daughter’s have had and that’s made his life complete.

It’s scary evey 6 months when he gets checked for his PSA’s and scans on his cancer, the relief he gets is palpable.

Another golf pal aged 57 had his prostate removed last Monday, he's been told he should live a healthy live now as the cancer was just in the gland.

Sending my best wishes to you, it’s not a problem to put you un touch with my two pals, Paul and Barney, great lads and Blues, we’re at City every home game, take care fella, you’ll live with this, hopefully for many years.

Edit: Also, if you live Glossop way (user name?) we run a bus to the Etihad every home game from the Sycamore next to Stamford Park Ashton, you are more than welcome to call in and meet up
Great post

Hi pal firstly good luck to yourself in your tests ,it found by the doctor after I went to GP for blood tests I wanted for a MOT mate.

I had a mot just before Xmas I’m 56 . The Dr told me the blood psa test isn’t very accurate and should be done in conjunction with a physical examination. My psa blood test came back ok and examination was also ok . I still piss a lot though at night , Putting down to not being a heavy sleeper and needing a piss is in my head . Good luck fella hope everything turns out ok for you .
